A different view of The National Mall in Washington DC. Unfortunately this area of The Mall is now closed off I believe due to turf restoration which is sorely needed but will be closed until December 2015.

Lousy reflection! See clearly and you'll know what I mean. I had less than 1 minute to capture this, position was all not right. Just two snaps, and then I had to rush to board the ferry to Phi Phi.

This is an old shot taken ages ago but had forgotten it until trawling through my archives. It was taken on a very misty day, and cold! I've kept the contrast fairly low in post p to keep the slightly misty and drab feel. I've also retained the tiniest hint of colour rather than a total mono.

The South Bank Parklands are located at South Bank in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The parkland, on the transformed site of Brisbane's World Expo 88, was officially opened to the public on 20 June 1992.
The South Bank Parklands are located on the southern bank of the Brisbane River, at South Bank, directly opposite the City. The parklands are connected to the City by the Victoria Bridge at the northern end, and to Gardens Point by the Goodwill Bridge at the southern end.
South Bank was originally a meeting place for the traditional landowners, the Turrbal and Yuggera people and, in the early 1840s it became the central focus point of early European settlement. From the 1850s, South Bank Precinct was quickly established as the business centre of Brisbane. However, this was all disrupted when the 1893 Brisbane floods forced the central business district to shift to the northern side of the river and attain higher ground. This is where the Brisbane central business district still stands today. This began the decline of South Bank, and the area became home to vaudeville theatres, derelict boarding houses, and light and heavy industry.
The 1970s marked the beginnings of a new era, with parkland reclaimed along the river bank, and the Queensland Cultural Centre was built which included the Queensland Art Gallery, the Queensland Museum, the Queensland Performing Arts Centre and State Library of Queensland (today it also includes the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art.

Mission:
Flowers. Yes, this is the week to show me how you can produce a flower picture in your own style and be pleased to hang it on your wall afterwards.
My shot had to be done today as i am away until monday now so here it is... I was going to use the other flower shot (reflections and shadows) but my wife prefered this one so its my pca16 entry
WIT : well first off i bought a bunch of flowers for the wife, nothing special as i knew i was going to be messing with em, she was pleased with them until i started picking em for this assigment, A mirror and a big piece of white card for a backdrop. I laid the flowers on the mirror to get the reflections and i was going to use some water drops somewhere along the line but decided against them. The blue was created by messing with white balance and the shadows where never planned, was just something that happened once i set the scene, once i see them tho i incorporated them into the shot. If i had more time to reshoot i would try to put more distance between the flowers and the mirror so that the reflections were not touching.
