This year the FFF+ Group have decided to have a weekly challenge called “Snap Happy”. A different theme chosen by a member of the group each week, and the image is to be posted on the Monday of the week.
This week the theme, “selfie” was chosen by Di, PhotosbyDi.
Anyone who knows me, knows that I am not a fan of selfies and I don’t much like my photograph being taken, from the front anyway. I am also very self-conscious and self-critical of my looks… it’s a long story with many chapters. However, there are a couple of things about my physicality that I do like. My eyes and eyelashes, and my hands. My eyes will vary from brown to green depending upon how I am feeling. My eyelashes always get comments about how long and thick they are, and people do ask me whether I wear mascara (which I don’t). My hands are my outlet for my creativity: drawing, sketching, designing, painting, beading, photographing, cooking, writing… the list goes on. I have a very slender hand and rather long and elegant fingers, perfect for peeping from beneath the cuff of a well cut pink shirt and for showing off the antique rings I love so much. Therefore I have created this rather Surrealist selfie for the “Snap Happy” theme which I think might have made Salvador Dali a little jealous!
This is one in a series of sweet little leaf pendants that you'll see here in my shop. This one features top quality, faceted rondelles in a multi-stone pallette.
Composition:
---Copper wire in medium and fine gauges
---AAA quality, micro-facted red garnet, mandarin garnet, vesuvianite, carnelian, and hessonite garnet
---Faceted and tiny copper beads
---Leather cord with handmade hook clasp---just over 16 inches. I can substitute for an 18 inch cord if you so desire.
All metal components have been oxidized and hand and hand polished to a rustic patina.

Calling all hoop lovers! These hoops remind me of scalloped lace, and the little loops are just perfect for hanging gems.

This pair has been oxidized and hand-polished to bring out the wire textures. It also gives them an aged or "old worldly" look.

Hindu name for "Who is without pride". An India-flavored pendant in silver, rather than gold. The shape is very similar to the archways found in the beautiful architecture of the old temples and tombs.
The main structure of this pendant is made entirely out of wire that has been shaped, soldered, and coiled. The gems selected are petite, faceted garnet rondelles, a faceted cognac quartz briolette, and an unknown bead at the top---andusalite maybe?
The oxidized snake chain is NOT included, but you can purchase one from my shop if you'd like.
This pendant has been oxidized and then hand buffed and machine polished for a nice shine. Oxidizing brings out the wire detail beautifully.
All metals used are sterling silver.

I'm not sure why I haven't made a cross, of any kind, in any of my designs up until now. Besides the obvious biblical symbol, I love the gothic, old-worldly feel that you get from them.

Galilea Earrings

The stones and materials used to create this beautiful mix:
Peridot, Amethyst, Lavender Amethyst, Citrine, Spessartite Garnet, Red Garnet, Madeira Citrine, Chrome Dioside, Rhodolite Garnet and Blue Zircon. Eye clear lavender Amethyst briolettes are poised right at the center of the cluster of stones and are enhanced by ornate 24k Vermeil bead caps. The cluster of stones is suspended by delicate 14k Gold-filled chains and attached to a single Garnet stone poised right underneath gorgeous 24k vermeil ear posts.
This stunning necklace features as hundreds of tiny rondelles in a beautiful, colorful, autumn inspired mix of Peridot, Red Garnet, Hessonite Garnet, Citrine, Topazolite Garnet, and Tundra Sapphire rondelles all poised into 24k vermeil head pins and and linked together with beautiful faceted Vesuvianite heart briolettes to form a hand made chain.
As a finishing touch, a 14k gold filled toggle clasp with a rope design has been added from which hangs another cluster of rondelles in shades of orange, red, green, yellow and brown and a single green faceted Vesuvianite briolette.

A design for an experiment of a customers request for the Egyptian Project. A double band made of sterling silver square wire gauge 14 holding a beautiful mosaic opal. The actual name of the stone is Opal Triplet. Basically the opal is broken into pieces and layered on a surface with glass poured over the piece, making it appear to be mosaic.
