This imposing mass of rock that looms above the Laconian coastline is linked to the mainland by a narrow causeway and a 130 metre long bridge, to which the town owes its name (“moni emvasi”which means “only access”).
The rock is 1500 metres long, 600 metres wide at its widest point, and is almost 200 metres high. The top of the rock is flat, forming a sloping plateau surrounded by steep cliffs falling to the sea. There are two fortified settlements, invisible from the mainland – the Lower Town (7,500 square metres) and the Upper Town (120,000 square metres) situated on the plateau at the top of the rock.

Kej na reci Nisavi / Кеј на реци Нишави / Pirotski Kej: The lime tree alley in my hometown Pirot, south-east Serbia. It is the flood protection barrier on both banks of the river Nishava and the longest tree alley in Serbia (more than 3 km long on each side). The path is covered with cobblestones and has light posts and benches. Perfect for long healthy walks or running. It was built in the 1930's thanks to the town mayor Svetozar Misirlic in order to stop the constant flooding. Svetozar was shot by the Communists after the II World War.

I combined three extended (manually bracketed) exposures that I the processed as an HDR. The orange glow is from Milton Keynes.

Last shot of this little bridge.
The bridge was built by General Caulfield in 1745, and it originally carried a military road into the heart of the Highlands; the whole road-making programme was designed by the English government to subdue the recalcitrant Scots after the first Jacobite uprising, but judging by the date (1745 marked the return of Bonnie Prince Charlie to Glen Shiel) the success of this scheme was debatable.
I am still learning to use my new raya pro software and digged out this image from HK i made 2015. There is a very bright portion of the sky on top of the image but it was not possible to use a filter to darken that part because there is no filter with such a form.
Therefore i originally made three bracketed images (-2EV, 0, +2EV) and merged them with Photomatix for my first edit.
Now i used the Raya Pro software for my second edit and got a much more natural looking result where the colours and saturation are much closer to the original.
