Happy belated Thanksgiving, flickr friends. The wedding is over...it was fantastic, and now onward to the holidays.
A colorful view of East Grand Traverse Bay, taken from a cherry orchard on Old Mission Peninsula, Michigan.
Lake Benson Park, Garner, North Carolina.
During our power failure caused by Winter Storm Jonas, I decided I would rather be outside taking pictures than sitting inside being cold. Our fireplace could warm up one room to about 59 degrees! Our power was restored after two days. It was so nice to be warm again!
Another peek at Big Red, one of my favorite barns in southwest Missouri.

Red barn and oak tree with a coat of ice. Lake Benson Park, Garner, North Carolina. This is part of a photography series I have started of this old oak tree viewed at different seasons of the year. The title was chosen be my friend Suzanne, who wanted a framed print of this picture.
One more barn. Some family’s pride and joy pictured in a old photograph and found in an album in the attic.

We often pass this beauty on road trips....is there anything better than a red barn? Maybe a red barn in a snowy scene!

Here's the image taken about 5 minutes prior to the now removed "Under The Dome failed shot" * ...
Fortunately, we didn't get to experience that storm seen in the far distance!
According to my trusty weather app, it's 97F here in New York City and 88F in Houston. I thought we came back to escape the summer heat...
*I've decided to remove it for it's really not a good image, but I wanted to ask for your opinion. I'm sure whatever happened, it probably had to do with me and not the camera. Perhaps I really didn't open the window entirely? Both of us remembered it was opened, and if it wasn't, I would have realized it afterward and immediately opened it fully and to retake another photo. But, maybe.... hmmmm?!?
Happy New Year!

'Why be a copy, when you were born an original'
This local barn is no longer there. It blew down recently and has now been dismantled. This is in memory of the grand old lady.

The barn on the right has had its day is the sun.
Still standing though_

Barn Swallows Series
Sometimes lately I go with my brother to get more reasonably priced smokes for him on First Nations not too far from Brantford ON. There are some lovely barns out there. I gave this a little extra pizzazz in Topaz. Nice rhyme.
Happy Slider Sunday
Mt. Baker sits behind a dairy farm next to the Red River Road. As we could predict, the name of the river next to Red River Road is Lummi River. It makes perfect sense!

One of my favorite barns in the area...and this time with sun-dappled hay bales! Bring on winter; they’re ready!

Yes, you’ve seen it once before from a different angle. This fall, it’s in a little worse condition. The holes are bigger, the roof sags a little more. How many more autumns does it have? I’ll keep you posted....
