From Cornell:
These birds often stick to main branches and trunks of trees, where they hitch in classic woodpecker fashion, leaning away from the trunk and onto their stiff tail feathers as they search for food hiding in bark crevices. When nesting, males choose the site and begin to excavate, then try to attract a female by calling and tapping softly on the wood around or in the cavity. When a female accepts, she taps along with the male, then helps put the finishing touches on the nest cavity. At feeders, Red-bellied Woodpeckers will push aside most bird species other than Blue Jays.
One of the Queen's own red deer stags in Windsor Great Park. I stalked him for 15 minutes doing everything right - upwind, silent etc. but he made me when I was still 60-70 metres away by the sound of the shutter which, I guess, isn't as silent as it seems. What a magnificent beast!
So, no need to make the trek to Scotland to see these. This photo was taken about 100 metres from the Long Walk which is where you saw Harry and Megan in their carriage on wedding day.
The Red-Legged Honeycreeper in the Lowlands of Costa Rica. I especially like this image with him excited and the feathers in the head standing up.

Red colobuses are Old World monkeys of the genus Piliocolobus. Red colobuses are highly sensitive to hunting and habitat destruction, and have been referred to as probably the most threatened taxonomic group of primates in Africa. They live in large troops which can number up to 80 individuals, the average being somewhere around 20 to 40 monkeys. The diet of red colobus monkeys consists mainly of young leaves, flowers, and unripe fruit. They are also known to eat charcoal or clay to help combat the cyanide some leaves may contain.
The Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park is a 50 km2 national park in Tanzania located on the island of Zanzibar. It is the only national park in Zanzibar. The Zanzibar red colobus, Procolobus kirkii (its population count is about 1000) found in the park, a rain forest species, is also known as Kirk's red colobus.

red seats repeated... I liked the way the light was hitting the tops of the seats. A 13 second exposure at f/9 w/ISO 200, was a fun setting.
Set Desc: Photographs of The Ohio Theater in Columbus Ohio, which was the subject of the a recent Columbus Flickr Meet, with over 40 Flickr folks from the Central Ohio area converging to hang out, and photograph this beautiful theater.
Attempted this night capture at 5 seconds and ISO 4000 to keep from blowing out the lighthouse in the light from the parking lot. Was still able to get some of that Milky Way beyond that was out over the Atlantic Ocean beyond the lighthouse.
The Red-crested Turaco is a fairly large, colorful, long-tailed regal bird. It is easily identified by its vivid red crest, white face and yellow beak. Eyes are red and the beak is yellowish-green. Its plumage is overall green. They measure 19 – 20 in (47.5-50 cm) from beak to tip of tail and weigh around 210-325g. Although they are social among the species, they are shy and remained concealed among the branches and seldom come to ground, except for water or food.
These abstract lines always caught my attention, so I couldn’t resist taking this shot when walking past it with my camera
