Though she can't walk,
Gloria joined hundreds of
other childen at the
WWE SuperSlam Axxess to
make a superstar entrance
as one of her favorite
Pro Wrestling Stars. They had
a booth set up where kids (and
some adults, oddly) came out
to music and flashing lights
and video and cameras -
could make a superstar entrance-
and Gloria waited patiently
for her turn (her brother went
first) and then swiftly popped out
of her small wheelchair and pulled
herself to center-stage with
just her arms (she has only
one leg and is not
ambulatory at all) -
and then to the roaring
music of Motorhead's
"The Game,"
the theme song
of her chosen hero,
Triple H,
she made her entrance,
even shooting water out of her
mouth like the man
himself.
I was there for
Campus Circle magazine here
In L.A. - and I hope they run this photo.
My wonderful Rolleiflex.

He's a genuine giant -
The Great Khali, a
superstar wrestler on the WWE circuit
from India, he's
7'3" and weighs just under
500 pounds. My beamish boy
and I met him at
SuperSlam Axxess, the two-day
fan event at the Nokia Plaza
in downtown L.A. where
my work for
Campus Circle mag
and website
allowed me
access to these giants
of my son's world.
He's the biggest man
I have ever met - super tall
but also a true behemoth -
a human mountain -
he shook our hands, -
and his hand was like
a baseball mitt. We tried
to talk to him, but he was
mostly quiet - and didn't
even look at my camera as
i took many photos. But here
he is - a giant walking
through a world of men -
the Great Khali in L.A.
How to record the FPP, sit around a table with microphones, talk about cameras, films, and all related topics. Take photos of each other.
