The Palace of the Winds is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of Rajput architecture in India. It is adorned with 953 windows. These were designed to enable the ladies of the royal court to watch street theatre unobserved, hidden behind the delicate latticework. Also known as the Hawa Mahal, the palace was built in 1799 for Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh as part of the women's quarters of the expansive City Palace complex in the heart of Jaipur. The street-facing façade is essentially an enormous screened porch, only one room deep in most places. In 1876, Jaipur was preparing for the visit of the Prince of Wales. To welcome him with warmth and grandeur, Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II ordered the entire city to be painted terracotta pink — a colour symbolizing hospitality and friendliness in Rajput culture — earning Jaipur its nickname of 'The Pink City'.

I created the video with Resolume Arena, a VJ software, and it's essentially a sub-composition out of a complet one. It consists of real-time GLSL shaders like ISF's, but the foreground features 3D animations, here some EasterEggs. This 3D objects were modeled and rendered "Strata 3d CX".

I largely repurposed all the existing material. Back from 2023 wear I created a plugin package for the VJ community, specifically Resolume Arena users, and gave away the 78 plugins, along with around 35 video loops, over 1000 times around Easter 2023. It's important to know that these Arena plugins are sold individually in community stores for $40 to $100 USD, and loop packages with around 35 videos & like mine in 1080p, average around $50 USD.

I personally incurred only expenses and a lot of work, and the community didn't react very actceptable. Therefore, I now only occasionally give away individual plugins for free and insist on a small contribution towards my own costs for the plugin packages production so that I don't lose moneyfor this communityprojects.

So here's the first Easter video I created from the plugin and video loop series "50 Shad's of ISF for Resolume," with which I wish everyone a happy, peaceful, and sunny Easter 2026 from the mountainous Switzerland,

yours truly, bennoH.

With everyone focusing on Ground Hog Day, my persistent "Air Hog" Northern Flicker (Woodpecker) continues to make itself at home despite my attempts to the contrary.

At 9:15PM this evening when I recorder this encounter with this bird, the temperature in Cheyenne, Wyoming was an amazing 54F (12C).

Taken straight from my iPhone 16 pro max.

At 7:18PM, I heard the roar of falling hail about 2 minutes before it struck. This real-time clip captures that moment. I received 8 minutes worth of pea size hail and more than a third of an inch of rain. Maximum intensity reached 1.23 inches per hour at 7:25PM.

The last part of the clip is sped up 20x and note the abrupt calming of the winds (front yard tree) after the core of the narrow squall line passed. The radar return was dBZ=64. After the storm moved through the intensity reached at least dBZ=72!

This clip (less wide field) using a Nikkor 35mm @ f/4 and iso 6400 was shot at 30fps. Darkening twilight necessitated using this high iso. However, grainness (noise) isn't too bad.

I snipped the 20 minute movie to highlight the best lightning strokes. The sped up timelapse failed to capture these half-second events.

I created the video in Resolume Arena, a VJ software, and it's essentially a sub-composition within that environment. It consists of real-time GLSL shaders, but the foreground features 3D animations. The 3D objects were remodeled up to rendered in Blender. For that straw and chocolate bunny, a simple Blender model was created from a real object using a 3D scanner, and this 3D model was then reworked and textured. I largely repurposed all the existing material. Back in 2023, I created a plugin package for the VJ community, specifically Resolume Arena users, and gave away the 78 plugins, along with around 35 video loops, over 1000 times around Easter. This strike was less than 1200 feet away. I froze the lightning to show that it was very short lived (only ~1/15th of a second-1 frame) but must have had a lot of energy associated with it. Turn up the volume to appreciate how close it actually was. Quite scary!!!

Upon further investigation, this bolt actually hit close to if not the house itself on the hill. Sound of the thunder indicated that the loudest first boom was from the segment at the cloud base and then the bolt traveled diagonally away from me.

BTW, this was one of only two strikes that occurred as this brief thunderstorm developed and moved through my area (dropping only 0.03" rain.

I received 1.10" in just 22 minutes. Urban flooding was isolated to a strip of lands a few miles centered over my neighborhood.

We received nearly 15% of our annual precipitation from the storm totals on June 1 & 4.

I created this sci-fi scene using TiXL, an open-source software for motion graphics and VJing. The spaceship, the space station, the Earth in the background, and the abstract star are all created as 3D models in Blender, exported in ".obj" format, and imported into TiXL using the OBJ loader. Each object can be individually edited live. Camera positions, object rotations, textures, and so on can be used in a live performance to synchronize with the music or simply to experiment and animate the sci-fi scene. The assets are available for free download, and in corresponding YouTube tutorials, I explain how to build the sci-fi scene in TiXL, send the individual elements via spout to Resolume Arena/Avenue or another VJ hub for further adaptation, mix the elements, and output them for projection to a projector. The link contains details including the mentioned asset download link: resolume.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=31638

After this hawk finished eating its prey, it went about clearing itself off while being quite aware of my presence.

One of many 35mm photos b/W with petri taken in japan by r.L.Huffstutter from 1961 to 1964 while stationed at nas atsugi, japan in vq-1. Tour of duty, usn.

Japanese movie house in yokohama during early 60s.

There is a reason I cannot get this photo adjusted and centered correctly. It is called, "lack of PC skills." I am pleased with the way the lantern came out. Shot this with a Petri and had color slides made. I have many more slides if I can recall exactly where they are now that I have a use for them--Flickr photostream. Thanks for the many positive comments. It makes my day. And of course, I really enjoy browsing your photos. I am amazed at the number of fabulous photographs and artwork exhibited. It's great. Rob

THIS IS AN ILLUSTRATION OF SOME OF THE WEEKENDERS WHO WANDER ALONG THE PACIFIC SHORES IN SEARCH OF AMUSEMENT AND QUITE FREQUENTLY, ROMANCE. IT HAS BEEN RUMORED THAT SOME PEOPLE MEET THE LOVE OF THEIR LIVES ALONG THIS PROMENADE. "IT IS ALL IN EYE CONTACT," STATED AMERICAN NOVELIST, EARL R. STONEBRIDGE. "ONE OF THE LATEST RUMORS IS THAT SOMETIMES COUPLES ACTUALLY HOOK UP FROM A SIMPLE GLANCE AND ONE THING LEADS TO ANOTHER. YES, IMAGINE, A VIRTUAL PARADE OF THE ROMANTICALLY INCLINED SEEKING OUT COMPANIONS FOR A LIFETIME--OR A WEEKEND. I HAVE ALWAYS BELIEVED THAT LOVE IS MORE FUN THAN WAR, SO I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE CROWDS INCREASE AS THE SUMMER SUN HEATS UP THE SHORE AND THE SAND. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO KEEP AN EYE ON THE ROMANTIC INCLINATIONS OF THOSE WHO PASS BY THE VENICE LIVE CAM, CLICK ON THE SITE BELOW AND KEEP ABREAST OF LOVE ON THE BEACH.
