Reading Buses route 194 Bracknell-Camberley now extends to Farnborough (Tech College) on 3 journeys per day. To coincide with this addition, Alexander Dennis Enviro400 MMC H47/33F 797 YX18KNC has been repainted in this rather nice eye-catching livery. This bus was new to Courtney Buses of Bracknell in 2018 - Courtney are now part of Reading Buses.

Here we see a line up of various route branded buses in the Reading fleet.
It's interesting to have looked at this change while it was happening – how books and newspapers slowly got replaced by screens in public transport....
Everything started with some odd guy with a PDA you'd see not more often than a couple of times a month, and now it's the other way around, some rare guy/girl with a big hardback in hand not more often than once in a couple weeks)))
On 26/10/2024, a running day was held to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first buses with coloured route branding in Reading. It was also used to mark the longevity of the seventeen 90-seat Scania OmniDekkas with East Lancashire bodywork that were purchased in 2004 in a significant change in vehicle purchasing strategy, as well as a significant change in company image.
The final two of the original vehicles in the fleet (805/806) plus ex Nottingham 863/864/865/866 were joined by five Scania OmniDekkas from other operators and provided free trips on routes across the Reading network.

Taken on Boscombe Pier yesterday afternoon. I thought he would make a good subject and took some shots as I got closer. I didn't spot her looking at him until I checked the shots after I'd walked past.

I just made Echo some new "leather" pants with some stretch pvc I got from the Yaya Han Cosplay collection. It's reeally good stuff for doll clothes, similar to the pvc Iplehouse uses. It's just best to get it when it's on sale >__<.
On June 30th 2019 Reading Buses held their 12th Annual Charity Open Day at their Great Knollys Street depot in Reading. The family-friendly event raises funds on the day for their Charity of the Year, this year being Cancer Research UK Kids and Teens.
As well as a good display of colourful buses from their sizeable fleet, there were a small number of visiting preserved buses, a frequent shuttle service into town and even a bus cavalcade at the end of the day.

Reading Buses Transbus Trident / Transbus H47/28F 537 WA04CSX is seen in Fleet operating a service 7 to Fleet Station in July 2018. The bus was new to Stagecoach Devon in 2004 but came from Stagecoach South in April 2018 as one of a pair sold to Reading Buses with the northern part of the route 7.

I actually used to worry that my daughter Stasia wouldn't like reading. She resisted learning to read and truly seemed to not want anything to do with independent reading. She loved for me to read to her but didn't want to read on her own. This may not sound like such a bad thing, but in my family it would be pretty awkward. We don't watch TV, we read. A lot. As with most things in life, I needn't have worried. One day when she was eight, I found her reading "The Boxcar Children" to her younger sister. She hasn't put books down since. Her current favorites are the Harry Potter series, anything by Eva Ibbotson, "The Westing Game", and Gail Carson Levine books.
I bought her a nightgown last Christmas with this Louisa May Alcott quote on it. It always makes me laugh -- who on earth was she referring to? how could you *ever* read too much?!
For The Rogue Players: People Reading in Public Places. We took a trip up to our local library together and I snapped this shot of Stasia reading in the sun. I love how her hat and pendant match the petunias!
For Today's Random Fact from My So-Called Life: The rest of my family returns today from a week-long visit to Virginia Beach (home of the coolest zip code in the USA: 23456!) Stasia and I have had a wonderful week together but we're missing everyone and glad they're coming home.
A June 2022 trip to Reading to ride the Reading Buses open-topper on service 17 plus a half hour photting passing buses whilst scoffing a meal deal!
Reading Football Club, known as ‘The Royals’, play their home matches at the Madejski Stadium (currently known as the Select Car Leasing Stadium) in League One. On matchdays there are a number of shuttle buses almost exclusively provided by Reading Buses / Newbury & District / Thames Valley (all the ‘F’ routes). These bring in fans on dedicated services from the surrounding areas.
Services F1 and F3 are the two frequent shuttle buses from Reading Station and the Mereoak park & ride site respectively. All others are single journey routes and these are:
F10 – Sonning Common;
F12 – Emmer Green & Caversham;
F14 – Henley-on-Thames & Caversham Park;
F20 – Newbury Bus Station;
F21 – Norcot;
F22 – Tilehurst;
F23 – Theale & Pangbourne;
F30 – Twyford;
F31 – Woodley Airfield;
F32 – Woodley;
F33 – Lower Earley;
F41 – The Nags Head;
F51 – Basingstoke, Tadley & Burghfield;
F52 – Farnborough, Yateley & Crowthorne;
F53 – Wokingham, Emmbrook & Winnersh;
F54 – Bracknell;
Weavaway – Purley Social Club.
I popped over to Reading to see these arrive on Saturday 28th Feb 2026 when Reading were playing Bradford City. The match finished 2-1 to the home team.
Reading & Northern SD40-2s 3051/3054 pass through Tamaqua with the 'mountain train' on 16 October 2017.
3051 is former MKT #611 delivered in September 1979, whilst #3054 is the oldest SD40-2 on the Reading roster - an ex CNW unit dating from September 1974.

Reading Buses operate this former Bio Gas demonstrator Scania N280UD / Alexander Dennis Enviro400 MMC H45/28F DD16GAS which has now been renumbered from 106 to 700 as seen in June 2019.

A return to Reading for the football buses today (06/04/2026) as a crowd of 17,144 saw League One Reading play Lincoln City in some fantastic Bank Holiday sunshine!
A total of 36 buses and coaches were seen today, made up of 26 double-deckers from the Reading Buses fleet, a Weavaway Travel Yutong, 6 coaches from Marshalls of Sutton-on-Trent, a Marriott's coach, a Wolverhampton-based Setra S415HD, and the Lincoln City team coach from Skills of Nottingham.
As usual, the Reading Buses collection included a variety of different liveries from across the whole fleet including Newbury & District and Thames Valley. The main F1 service from Reading Station required 8 buses; the F3 from Mereoak park & ride required 2; and the other 16 were all on different F-routes from the surrounding area.
Reading Buses took over running the Green Line 702 service from First Group over the Christmas period in 2017. The service runs from Bracknell to London Victoria with some early morning and late evening services extending to Reading.
Since then a variety of different vehicle types have been used on the service including Scania demonstrator YN16CFU, a Scania N250UD / Alexander Dennis Enviro400 MMC temporarily numbered 778 in the Reading fleet, seen here in Bracknell in February 2018.
