Photoshop description: For the background I used a rose color from the bouncy ball. For the picture of the cup, I made a copy of the picture and put it into another layer but for the second layer I only used the glass, also I resized both copies of the picture. The layer that has the whole picture in it was blurred using the motion blur. Then I lined up the cup layer (just the cup) to look as if the background is blurred but the cup is still in focus. For the word 'React' I used the type font of Blackadder ITC size 130. I used a white font and added the effect of satin which is a blue color like the ball and the beveled and emboss effect. For the line 'To act in response' I used a font color of a dark teal, added a white stroke, and a drop shadow. For the line 'to a stimulus' I made it look like the complete opposite of the first line of words.
Artist Statement: I like the creativity of the picture chosen. I like how when you originally think of the word react you think of a person, or something, and the picture I took was completely different and original. I like how this picture has a good flow to it and a soft feeling to it. It draws your eyes to it, and still give you that kind of fun feeling. I also like how the word is kind of a harsh kind of word and when you look at the picture, it gives you that intense feeling as well as an at ease, and fun feeling. I like how the bubbles in the water and the capture of the action of the balls, gives it that kind of intense feeling, and yet the bouncy balls give it that fun feeling. I also like the colors chosen because i tied the colors of the bouncy balls into the overall picture, which i like when you can tie in parts of the picture to make an over all good picture (it just adds flow to the picture and gives it some more character).
