I shot this in New York City, and asked a local what it was, and that is what he said, "Looks like Trumps Space Force Raygun".

This old autoshop has everything you need for nice sunday afternoon; 4ft holes in the floor, rats, hardball shootin' maniacs and a couple of nice walls... It's heaven!

I know, I know, it's an unimaginative name, but I couldn't think of anything else. I have a bunch of new stuff I'll be posting in the following days, so this is just a place holder.

Xph˚lgíœk, a trilaterian from Altair V, and Cyrus Pell, a hominid from Sol III, have teamed up to investigate the disappearance of the colony on Gamma Leonis II.

This dynamic duo was built for the 2020 BioCup and CZQ's #CZQcharacters contest. Both were designed with a pulp sci-fi novel aesthetic in mind. Cyrus took cues from this artwork, and Xph˚lgíœk was inspired by povorot's Amphorans on DeviantArt.

"Launched" on Friday night. The Rocketship was a major art/performance piece at Burning Man 2009.

Art Piece Description:

The Raygun Gothic Rocketship is a rococo retro-futurist future-rustic vernacular between yesterday's tomorrow and the future that never was, a critical kitsch somewhere between The Moons of Mongo & Manga Nouveau.

In all its glory.

I would like to dedicate this mod to Will, as he is obviously a massive inspiration to my works, but also, I just wanted him to see that his fans do care ;) Thank you for everything you do for us all.

Please, enjoy!!

Now you know why I don't like to eat the crust!

Acrylic Laser-cut Ray Gun

• Material: .118" clear cast acrylic

• Total Slices: 62

• Weight: 2 pounds

• Assembly and gluing time: 3 hours

I made this to go with my vinyl Munny custom, Munbot. The gun is 3 inches long x 2 inches high. It is made from various found objects.

The fun part of this one is the syrup dispenser trigger guard/grip to barrel transition connector.

Testing out a raygun animation idea.

The Warthog Z-9 on its display stand. Next to the strap on the base is a magnet that can hold the pistol's "power cell".

Nope, doesn't come in peace.

Credit for the raygun technique goes at least half to demdike, with whom I had a nice hangover build a couple of months ago. I kept all the tablescrab we fumbled together that morning and will post them eventually...

Assembled and ready to paint ...

-laptop battery

-inkjet cartridge

-tapegun parts

-pocket flashlight

-plastic

-baby bottle bits

2 color gocco screenprint. 3.5" x 4.5"

Not a high quality shot but it does look kinda cool at the thumbnail size..... :-)

I'm not going to whine any more about my back as so many folks have much more dire things to deal with, rock on.

BIG ..... not recommended:-)

The Raygun Gothic Rocketship doing what it does best, looking majestic.

The collection so far, at all different scales. Doesn't the XMS look huge by comparison?

All Stackrylic sculptures are made from scaled BrickArms 3D models, sliced via 123D Make, cleaned up in Corel Draw, and laser-cut from 1/8" acrylic layers glued together.

Pictured:

Just a quickie testing out some new(to me) techniques.

For when it's time for a duel in space, at high noon or otherwise.

A MOC made around that new large CCBS shell. It definitely is a fun one to use!

My latest project is another 1950s style Sci-Fi ray gun, made with bits from the scrap metal skip at work. The back end is part of an old infra-red pyrometer, while the two spheres are floats from different sizes of float-type steam condensate trap.

This started as a photo I took of a couple the tin rayguns I have in my collection ....................1930's to the 50's.
