Leiden, NL - my black Leica beauties. The left one is particularly nice. I just wish that film wasn't that dead in the Netherlands. Otherwise, those cameras are the best tools I can imagine.

My sister Trish's cat, I'm not remembering it's name at the moment.
She had a pair of tabby cats but one has gone, now this sweetie is all alone, with Trish.
The light was pouring in through the large window, putting the cat in dark shadows.
Using Photomatix, I was able to pull out detail of this splendid companion.
Bonus - The light on the throw blanket is real sweet too.

My challenge from @egad this week was "abstract". I saw this reflection of my Mac dock in my wine glass, and couldn't help but see my friend Glen's grin staring back at me. You are missed, but not missing, my old friend.
I'm glad I brought all our cameras with us this trip.
This egret was taken with our oldest camera, the Panasonic FZ-30. It has a super zoom range from 35mm to 420mm and can be pushed to further lengths by limiting the image circle that hits the sensor.
I had it at a full 420mm to get this close to this magnificent bird.
The lens is of a Leica design, which gives great sharpness. It can capture in RAW format, which really allows the full range of the image which it can capture to be further processed.
Suffice it to say, I'm glad that I included it in my packing.
