I hope you find yours so you can recharge. We all need a bit of solitude at one point or another. Behind the camera I find mine.
On another note, I miss green in nature, I miss colours in nature. Winter can make for lovely scenes don't get me wrong but I like seeing colours, I like seeing plants and flowers.
Have a super awesome Monday!

t’s been a while since my last visit to Deerock Lake, so I took a ‘minute’ last night to swing up and maybe catch one of the crazy sunsets we’ve been treated to lately.
While the sunset didn’t really happen, the fall colours made up for it!

Canon EOS 5D Mark II with a Sigma 105mm EX DG f2.8 macro lens that no longer will autofocus but still works great manual focusing. Aperture priority at 5.6 ISO 320 and edited in ON1 Photo Raw 2022.
On my morning walk with my Canon EOS 1DS Mark III with the Canon EF 70-200 f/4L lens. Imported and processed in ON1 Photo Raw 2022.
it is now a private property no longer used as a church. Still, it makes a lovely setting on an autumn day in North Frontenac Township.
Went searching for some dark skies to find the Aurora and came up empty handed.
However, I did manage to capture a shot of this little old beauty. Shot at 11:22 pm with a Waxing Gibbous First Quarter Moon shining thru some overcast sky over my left shoulder.
Quite impressed at the power and dynamic range of the K1.
Canon EOS 5D Mark II with Canon 24-70 f2.8 at 70mm aperture priority f4 ISO 100 hand held cropped for the web.
Went for a drive today just here in North Frontenac Township to see if I could spot some of Mother Nature's handiwork - I am still trying to stay in the KFLA as much as I can with the pandemic still on even though we have had both our shots. It's cool today, you needed a hoodie and they are calling for frost perhaps tonight but the vibrant red leaves made you feel all warm and fuzzy.
Canon EOS 1DS Mark III Canon EF 70-200 f4L at f4 ISO 100.
I try to get out every day to capture the beauty in the days of fall/autumn. There is something so peaceful as to just getting out and enjoying the beauty that Mother Nature gives us.
Canon EOS 5D Mark II Canon EF 24-70 f2.8L at f5 ISO 100.
No edits needed as Mother Nature produced the wonderful fall colours for us reflected in the water at the side of the road.
Canon EOS 1DS Mark III Canon EF 70-200 f/4L at f4.5 ISO was at 160.
This horse barn was still in use when this image was taken thirteen years ago. In hindsight, this would have made for a great Long Exposure shot, but I wasn't setup for that style of photography back in 2012.
Unsure of the name of the wildflower. It grows on the side of the road here in North Frontenac Township.
Canon EOS Mark II with Lensbaby Composer Pro with the Double Glass Optic f2.8 ring and Macro filter on. Hand held. Edited in ON1 Photo Raw 2021 (cropped and resized for the web).
Canon EOS 5D Mark II with Sigma 105 EX DG 105mm f2.8 macro lens at f5.6 ISO 250 aperture priority no edits other than resized in the web with ON1 Photo Raw 2022.
Even at 5.6 this lens gives some nice bokeh. My lens has since stopped autofocusing therefore I have to manual focus everything with my trusty 105 macro lens.
Canon EOS 5D Mark II with Canon EF 70-300 f4-5.6 USM at f5.6 aperture priority edited in ON1 Photo Raw 2021.
I had not seen any red squirrels around for some time now. I figured they were all off doing whatever they do although the allure of food in the snack shack should have brought them around is my thinking. In any event my little "Fan Tail" friend here decided to grace us with her presence at the feeder in the tree.
Canon EOS 5D Mark II with a Canon EF 70-200 f4/L aperture priority at f9 ISO was set to auto so the camera picked 3200. Processed for the web in Lightroom Classic.
The weather here in Eastern Ontario is disgusting. It's hot, it's humid and you don't want to do anything. I took the wild sweet peas that I had put in a make shift vase (old bottle) and went out on the patio to take some photos. I threw the Lensbaby Composer Pro (as can be seen in the exif data) with the Sweet 35 Optic on the Canon EOS 5D Mark II and put some green and pink tulle around the lens. Shot wide open and then edited in ON1 Photo Raw 2021 using a preset and a couple of develop effects.
A different shot of "smiling sam" here. They have such funny little personalities each one is different.
Canon EOS 5D Mark II with a Sigma 105mm EX DG f2.8 at f3.5 aperture priority edited (resized for the web) in ON1 Photo Raw 2021.
I had not seen him in a few weeks although GP said he did. We moved his snack shack and tree feeder to the west side small deck of the house as we were putting weather seal on the east side large deck and we didn't want paw prints on it. Today, I was eating my lunch out on the west side and I spotted him at his feeder. He immediately stopped eating and gave me the grin here.
Canon EOS 5D Mark II with a Sigma 105 EX DG f2.8 macro lens at f3.5 ISO was 400. Edited a tiny bit in ON1 Photo Raw 2021.

The Eye of Providence... you are being watched! (Thankfully, I noticed this just as I was contemplating shoving a gold-plated candlestick into my camera bag...phew! That was close!)
Still staying close to home even though we have had both our "jabs". Ontario is now into the cusp of fourth wave so my flower is a willing subject to be photographed thus the reason you see it more these days. The yellow in the background is my little sunflower.
Canon 1DS Mark III with Lenbaby Scout and Sweet 35 optic. ISO was at 100 and the aperture was 4.0. Focused on the center of the flower grouping and I upped the exposure just a tad in ON1 Photo Raw 2021.
Back in October of 2013 the Kingston Frontenac United Way was given the opportunity to take people in as part of a tour of the recently closed Kingston Penetentiary Maxium Security Prison. The prison had just closed on the 30th of Septmeber and so many of the items left by prisioners on the walls of their cells, in the common rooms etc. were still there. I was fortunate enough to get tickets to the tour.
I went on the tour another year and by then they had the prison "staged" with all the items left that I saw this first time long gone.
This is the fence to the exercise yard for the prisioners.
Canon EOS 7D with a Sigma 18-200 lens. Edited in Lightroom Classic.
I want to thank you for taking the time to visit my little space here on Flickr.
I love these wildflowers that grow in our backyard. I wish they would cover the hill from the road to the house.
Canon EOS 1DS Mark III with a Lensbaby Composer Pro and the Edge 80 optic at f5.6. Edited for the web in ON1 Photo Raw 2021.
I had to actually put on a hoodie this morning when I went out to fill up the feeders and Snack Shack as it was a tad cool. Have a super day good people!
Canon EOS 7D with my Sigma 150-500 aperture priority at f6.3 hand held. Edited in ON1 Photo Raw 2021 (cropped, highlights taken down a notch, midtones and shadows up and resized for the web).
Wildflowers in a makeshift vase (aka a bottle). Put a white sheet of paper behind the vase to give it a clean background.

My little friend here has a bit of dirt on the left side of his mouth (the right in the photo). It appears to give him the look of smiling for the camera. I want to think he is smiling for you all. Look at the "dust" from the nuts in the dish on his wee nose :-)
Canon EOS 5D Mark II with a Sigma 105 EX DG 105mm f2.8 macro lens on aperture priority at f4.0. Edited (cropped and resized for the web) in ON1 Photo Raw 2021. I am still unsure why the Sigma lens only shows as 105mm and does not give the name in the exif will be on a mission to figure that one out.
This little one is not too keen on my camera getting to close. He scampered into a crook in the tree but I managed to grab a shot.
Canon EOS 5D Mark II with Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8L aperture priority at 5.6 and cropped in the flickr editor option.
I was out taking photos after picking up some meds at the drug store in Sharbot Lake. Always carry a camera I say. This is Road 506 with the view heading west. I am still staying in the KFLA area even though we have both our shots. GP is going in for day surgery on Monday and we have been asked not to be around people even though we are vaccinated so that he does not contract the virus (even with a shot you can still get it - it just allows you to not become quite as ill).
Canon EOS 1DS Mark III with Canon EF 24-70 f2.8L at f3.5. ISO was 640. I am using ON1 Photo Raw 2021 to import and change my photos to jpg for the web versus Lightroom now as Lightroom seems to be so finickity at times. I put a local adjustment on the horizon to darken up the sky a bit to show the dull dismal day it was. Right now we have a heat humidity wave here in Ontario. I don't have time for nonsense with fighting with Lightroom at times now that I am retired - too much to do and enjoy now that I am no longer working.
