ring a day

29/365

day 29

The water droplets act like small prisms. They refract and disperse the incident sunlight, then reflect it internally, and finally refract it again when it comes out of the raindrop.

This is my first official bridal necklace, and I couldn't be more thrilled! I hope there's a bride out there who falls madly in love with it.

The festoon (center piece), is constructed of sterling silver wires that have been shaped, hammered, woven and coiled into an eretheral winged heart. It's adorned with top quality, faceted rainbow moonstone briolettes, and creamy white, freshwater pearls.

It hangs from a strong, sterling silver rollo chain and is finished with a handmade hook-style clasp and 2 inch chain extender.

I have saved a couple moonstone briolettes for earrings if you'd like a pair to match. We could go over the price and design to suit your taste :)

I've left this necklace bright, but you can always choose to have it oxidized at a $10 extra charge--I'll send you a revised Paypal invoice after purchase.

Measurement: Adjustable between 16 1/2 and 18 1/2 inches. I can re-size it at no extra charge.

I've recently become enamoured of Dolores Costello, the original Goddess of the Silent Screen and grandmother to the immensely talented Drew Barrymore.

This lush wristwrapper here is a tactile tribute to that delicately beautiful blonde-haired actress who stole the hearts of millions in the golden era of hollywood flicks.

Her complex and multi-faceted personality are reflected in the stark contrast exuded by the pairing of Black against White Laces, vintage of course. These provide an airy yet lavish framework for that plush setting of Golden Yellow Italian Dupioni Silk, which serves to echo Ms Costello's tresses.

Against this enchanting backdrop, a sheer wisp of Silk Black Lace with Silver Lame inserts has been delicately pintucked to create some subtle flounce. An exquisitely embroidered Victorian Silk Velvet Ribbon from the 1890s takes centrestage as swags of 925 Sterling Silver Chains drape beautifully below it. These are further adorned with Rainbow Moonstone Spiral Twist Briolettes as well as wee Seed Pearls. A final ruffled layer of Pure Italian Silk adds just that right touch of tattered decadence.

Lined with Pinstriped Italian Wool Suiting, GREATER THAN A CROWN measures approximately 5" tall by 7" across. She secures with Vintage Glass Buttons, this cuff can comfortably fit wrists sized from 5" all the way to about 75".

All fabrics and findings used in Sheela Goh Couture designs (unless indicated otherwise) are antique and over 100 years old. In fact, some bits are authentic Edwardian and Victorian. Seriously. So please, do wear her with care and respect.

Knitted from rose golden copper wire with a crochet hook.

Although the stone isn't clear, it has a beautiful blue shimmer in the light.

It's like another world exists inside this stone...

moonstone, onyx and recycled sterling ring

"Moonrise" ~ This is a more simplified version of another ring in my shop with the same name. The spirals have been reduced to simple loops for a more subdued look, but no less stunning. I designed this silver wirewrapped ring with a brilliant faceted AAA Fire Rainbow Moonstone briolette as the focus with its brilliant iridescent flashes of blues, greens. I chose the perfect compliments of AAA grade crimson Garnet and warm Tundra Sapphire beads that resemble the deep colors of an Autumn sunset with a big Harvest Moon on the horizon. These are wrapped with highly tarnish resistant and nickel-free Argentium Silver completely around a handcrafted Argentium Silver ring frame.

It has a gentle give to it, great for when fingers swell a little. With it's organic, nature inspired lines and romantic, yet vintage feel, it would make a truly special gift for that fashion savvy gal who likes something just a little different to polish off her unique style, that includes you. ;) Also, Moonstone is considered a traditional birthstone for the month of June, Garnet is January, and Sapphire is September.

this is the first clothing for ED, or any doll, that i have made. i knitted with baby wool and 2mm needles. i didn't use a pattern but just measured her bust, waist and hips and then tried to decrease and increase at the right places.

here i was figuring out how to finish the dress and what closure to have on it. put her hair in an improvised updo with some wool and a toothpick for checking the size of my knitting and trying it on her.

i started out with too many stitches in the top part, so i ended up with "flaps" that are too long. then decided to use them and put a rainbow moonstone bead on it as a button. i had not knitted a button hole so i had to widen a stitch, but it works. you can see the "problem area" though, the flap which is too long creates bulk under the top part.

then i was racking my brain to figure out a way to tighten the part below the button, until i thought of using yarn. but what colour??

i tried different ones until i found the red one which i liked the most.

i'm quite happy with this as my first dress but want to try again and improve on it.

next i want to make a knitted dress for Pirooz because i think this colour would look great on her too. and i will go buy more baby wool next week!

Beautiful rainbow moonstone... the star of a new 'flower and leaf' collection

In this necklace I've baptised as Lucy In The Sky With (Black) Diamonds, I've really tried to capture and evoke those feelings of child wonderment; of seeing life through rose tinted glasses; of simply being.

A Polished Smokey Quartz Briolette is set with a glowing Opal, within a Solid 18K Yellow Gold Bezel. This glorious focal represents the unadulterated joy of living.

Above this, perhaps the most lush waterfall of gems ever comes into view. Patiently fashioned from over 100 wee Rondelles of Burgundy Tunduru Sapphires, Pink Tourmaline, Ceylon Rainbow Moonstone, Rose Quartz, Brazilian Andalusite and, of course, dazzling Genuine Black Diamonds right in the middle.

That centre wire-wrapped Circlet features more petite pretties as two more lush processions of gems, including Black Diamonds (yes, more Diamonds!!), pave the way to a final pair of Circlets showcasing yet more Pink Tourmalines and Rainbow Moonstone.

Dangling from the chain bits are dainty drops of, in turn, Rose Quartz with Pink Tourmaline and Rainbow Moonstone with Pink Tourmaline. Peppered in between are teeny tiny Smokey Quartz Rounds, providing a delicious chocolatey link back to that awesomely majestic Focal.
