July 9, 2013. Wild flowers growing along the West Toronto Railpath in the Junction Triangle neighbourhood.
This wonderful multiuse path runs along the Georgetown and Brampton GO Train corridor, from north of Dupont Street, to Bloor Street, and south to Dundas West. It's a wonderful addition to west Toronto. A proposed extension will take this down to Liberty Village, and a bike path into downtown Toronto.

This photo is dedicated to the memory of Jenna Morrison who died on Monday November 7th, at the southern end of this trailway, when she made a right turn onto Dundas West.

July 8, 2014. Townhouses being constructed on the site of reclaimed industrial land in the Junction Triangle. The property, once the site of the Glidden Paint plant, is at the west end of Wallace, where it meets the West Toronto Railpath. I took this picture from steps of the footbridge that connects Wallace to Dundas and the subway.

The West Toronto RailPath was developed and funded by the City of Toronto for bicycle and pedestrian use. It is an example of an urban rails-to-trail project, located in the Junction neighbourhood.
Phase 1 of the path, which runs from Cariboo Avenue to Dundas Street West and Sterling Road, was completed in 2009. It was designed by Scott Torrance Landscape Architect Inc. in conjunction with Brown and Storey Architects. The project restored historical rail bridges, added new public art pieces by artist John Dickson. New entrance points are located at Dupont and Bloor Streets. Concrete plazas are located along the trail where existing streets intersect it, providing neighbourhood connections and gathering places. Indigenous plants are thrive here, and the sound of crickets provides s a welcome respite in the big city.
The former Alcan / Algoods / Tower Automotive, now MOCA building on Sterling Rd. now has its view from the West Toronto Railpath obscured by a concrete railway crash wall.
