C'était chouette ! Ils sont tous repartis des images plein la tête, des sensations... plein les bras. Le Raid des corsaires, c'est vraiment magique.
Un catamaran, c'est beau dans la brise, car il « lève la patte », un flotteur hors de l'eau, avec les deux équipiers suspendus à leur trapèze. En revanche, c'est moche et ça se traîne dans la « pétole » (absence de vent). Les organisateurs et les 120 équipages ont évité cela, et ont eu de la chance.
En effet, le minimum syndical d'une dizaine de noeuds (autour de 20 km/h, soit un petit force 4) leur a permis de disputer de bout en bout deux allers-retours de rêve sur tapis bleu, vers Cancale samedi, vers Fréhel dimanche.
Bref une belle réussite pour cette neuvième édition du Raid des corsaires, associant L'Avoile, le Surf school, la Société nautique, le YC Saint-Lunaire, les sauveteurs de la SNSM, avec l'appui de la Ville et de nombreux sponsors dont Roullier, Diazzo et Sacib.
À retenir, l'hommage émouvant rendu lors du briefing au jeune disc-jockey malouin assassiné, Jérôme Bertrand, qui avait gagné une édition du Raid en Hobby 16 et sonorisait l'événement en 2013.
Objets volants identifiés
Il y avait du très haut niveau une fois de plus, aussi bien dans la classe reine des Formules 18 que dans les autres groupes, sans oublier les objets volants nouvellement identifiés - façon de parler ! - que sont les Flying phantom avec leurs foils.
Dans cette série, le Malouin Benjamin Amiot et le Vannetais Gurvan Bontemps ont confirmé leur suprématie, titillés à trois minutes par les excellents Thibaut Vauchel-Camus et Benjamin Lamotte. Le champion Cammas s'est classé troisième. En F18, Victorien Erussard récidive, dix ans après sa première victoire (devant Benoît Champanhac), bien qu'ayant, dans l'intervalle, mené d'autres projets.
À noter aussi la belle performance de Thierry Genouvrier, avec sa fille Juliette, premiers en Hobby cat 16 (3e en C3), et la victoire de Loïc Féquet sur Tornado en intersérie C3. Le mini-raid a été remporté par Morel et Dufour, du Surf school.

Six people suspected of being part of an organised crime group involved in a large-scale drugs supply and money laundering conspiracy have been arrested.

This morning (Thursday 29 February) specialist detectives from GMP Serious Organised Crime Group and Economic Crime Unit, supported by district resources and colleagues from neighbouring forces, executed thirteen simultaneous warrants at properties and residences across Bury, Bolton, Salford, and Rossendale.
Three women aged between 35 to 40, and three men aged between 38 to 41, have been arrested on suspicion of money laundering. They remain in police custody for questioning.
A 38-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis.
At a house in Bury, police seized around £10,000 cash, luxury jewellery, and two air rifles. Several more high value items including jewellery and clothes have been seized from across the properties raided today.
This operation is the latest in a series of interventions by GMP specialist Economic Crime Unit, who over the last financial year, have forfeitted almost £14 million cash and criminal assets.
Detective Inspector Sarah Langley from GMP Economic Crime Unit said: “People are becoming increasingly creative in how they launder money made from illicit enterprises, and that’s why we have teams of specialist detectives whose job it is to stay one step ahead of them.
“This morning we’ve recovered significant amounts of money and discovered items that we believe has been acquired through the proceeds of crime.
“Money laundering costs the UK economy and taxpayers billions of pounds, with the illicit finance often being used to fund other forms of serious organised crime.
"Our team will continue to target those suspected to be involved, and we will seize their criminal assets and cash so that they can be reinvested into the communities of Greater Manchester who deserve it.”
