In our first action, we had an airfield raid by 8) Luftwaffe Bf 109Es on one of the scattered I-16 squadron fields The first I16 goes down. I only had 3 Ratas up when the 109Es roared in. This zveno was led by Capt P Stanislavovich. 4 (John)had the 109 frag bombers and 4 other 109s were flying top cover, split between Ed and Sam. I was at least facing some of the top cover 109s of Ed's. All 3 of my pilots including the zveno leader are green. Ed had a plus 3 pilot and a green pilot- the other 6 Germans were plus 1s.Pardon the winter camo on a couple of 109s.
