The Queens Hotel stands directly in Lerwick Harbour worlds apart from any hotel where you may have stayed before. the spirit of relaxed freedom will strike you immediately. The renowned harbour-view restaurant has as its backdrop an ever-changing panorama of the island of Bressay. You can watch the drama of the harbour unfold as its mood changes from morning sunrise to evening sunset.

"What is a queen without her king?"
I don't know, but let's ask
Cleopatra,
Nefertiti,
Hatshepsut,
Sammuramat,
Victoria,
Elizabeth,
Amina,
Tzu-hsi
and the countless other kingless queens
who turned mere kingdoms into
the greatest Empires.

Another slide restoration and this one was very faded but I think I've done OK getting the details out.
Having seen what it was I found out a little about it. Firstly, it's in the High Street in Pinner and was taken in December 1981. The cars of the time are clearly on show and the Rover in the foreground I always associate with as the Prime Minister's official car. There is a lovely Christmas tree on the right of the image, and the shops have made an effort with festive lights too.
There has been a pub (or inn) on the site since 1540, but it is thought that it may have been such an establishment some time before. It was known as 'The Crown' until about 1715. Certainly the building is of great age, as the cellars date back to the 12th Century.
The real claim to fame is that Eleanor Nelson (Horatio's only daughter) was killed outside by a bolting horse in 1872 and it's said that her ghost still roams the rooms of the pub.

I don't need much with you my love
Cause the champagne drains and the airplane fame turns into rust
I don't need much with you my love
Cause the Hollywood Hills won't ever make me feel as good as us
You got me singin'
We don't need no bankroll make us feel alive
We don't need no Benzo, to feel like we can ride
Richer than Solomon with you by my side
We'll be Kings & Queens in our own mind
We don't need no jet plane feel like we can fly
We don't need no gold chain just to watch it shine
24 karat lives we don't got the time
We'll be Kings & Queens in our own mind
We'll be Kings & Queens in our own mind
We'll be Kings & Queens in our own mind
I got everything I'll ever need
You can cash every check try to buy a respect that's incomplete
I got everything I'll ever need
Don't gotta make it to the top yeah to know what I got
With you and me
You got me singin'
All the feels tonight are real
All that's real you can't buy or steal
All the feels tonight are real
All that's real you can't buy or steal

Queens don't break, we just get stronger.
So so so happy to be taking the first of many pics with the queen to my left. We've been through hell and acted like we owned the place in the process, fell apart, and now are back and better than ever!

I did not get my Milky Way shots at Bryce due to mostly overcast skies, but this does not mean the visit was a complete loss, as I had time to hike down into the canyon.
This rather unusual perspective of Bryce Canyon is a handheld panorama taken near Queens Garden.
Photo inspired by RaeLynn's song Queens Don't
Queens don't hate, queens don't fight
Queens don't stay unless their king treats her right, oh
Every jewel on my crown, you better believe I earned it
Won't keep people around that don't believe I deserve it
No, queens ain't fake
A queen's gonna rule just the way she was made, oh
I ain't 'bout to let nobody come and take me off this throne
Some girls might, but queens don't

This place doesn't exist anymore its a shot from some archives I was browsing. Sometimes its good to look back on the good old days, when everything was more settled!
The Aviary was originally a Buckminister Fuller inspired geodesic dome which served as the Winston Churchill Pavilion during the 1964 World’s Fair. It was subsequently transformed into the colorful habitat that we know today.
I took too many pictures to put in a collage... so this first batch is just the inside beauty of this aviary... next batch will be the birds I captured!!
I hope you enjoy the walk!!
Thanks for viewing & Commenting.
Queen's View is a famous viewpoint on the road to Rannoch and Tummel
One of Highland Perthshire's most popular visitor attractions, this spectacular view over Loch Tummel to Schiehallion and beyond is visited by thousands each year, and when you go there, you will see why. Queen Victoria visited here and although she thought it was named after her, there is some thought that it was named after Queen Isabella, wife of Robert the Bruce, some 500 years earlier.
Run by the Forestry Commission, there is a car park and an excellent cafe open all year round.
Queen's View makes an excellent starting point for your visit to Tummel and Rannoch. From here you can drive right up to wild Rannoch Station and around Loch Rannoch with its Clan Trail, passing spectacular views all the way along. Stop for a meal in Kinloch Rannoch or Rannoch Station or, better still, stay a while in one of the many welcoming places to stay and enjoy everything the glen has to offer. The road comes to an end at Rannoch Station.
