I exclaimed "the Queen" in my mind when seeing this giant dragonfly elegantly laying eggs from the surface of the water like posing a dance. Later on I did some research to find out the name of this dragonfly species is "Emperor Dragonfly" or "Blue Emperor" - I think they deserve these names!

I have to say that I finally completed this task today but the photographs were not as exciting/beautiful as the old photos I took some years back. (I realized that this year I have missed the best month to take photographs of dragonflies and damselflies to lay eggs from the surface of the water) Therefore I am posting this image from 2018 instead ;-)

While flipping through my archive in search of a cheerful photo to ring in the weekend, I stumbled upon this mallard beauty queen. When I saw her at Planten un Blomen, a lovely park in central Hamburg, posing so nicely on a rock at a small pond, I knew I had to take her photo. Isn't she pretty? I could swear that she was smiling at me :)

You know, sometimes it bothers me that Q comes before S. I feel like this is something I only think when I am incredibly sleep deprived, like I am right now.
Check out Remnant when you get a chance! There's a lot of great post-apoc themed items at the shopping event, including this cross prop pictured here from Disorderly! Comes in three different styles with lots of pose variations! This is not to theme, but they still look really great. I'm sure there are still cards after the Reckoning, or something. You won't have TV, probably, what else are you gonna do?

Queen buttefly at Tohono Chul Park. When we got to Tucson last November, there were still lots of flowers in bloom and it was warm enough for butterflies. Lucky us.

This image has been produced many times by photographers over the years. The view is of Loch Tummel looking west from the viewing platform called “Queen’s View”. The body of water is often called Loch Scotland because the outline of the water looks like the shape of the country. You can’t see it as well as you used to because the trees to image right have grown considerably in recent years and chops off the east coast.
You can’t really do too much to change the viewpoint with this shot so all you can do is try to get the best possible conditions. Alas, as is so often the case I didn’t plan this particularly well and missed the best of the light. I had been in the north west of Scotland earlier in the day and thought I could chance a sunset on route south. It didn’t quite work out as bright or as nice as I would have liked but there is a lot of drama going on in that sky.

Lizzi is the oldest of my cats. She's always been very charismatic and always got her way with everyone. That's why I eventually nicknamed her Queen Mother. She feels recognized by her new name and is very comfortable in her role. Even the dogs acknowledge her dominance.
"How rude! That's not how you kill a vampire...", explained the vampire queen to her "food" before eating him.
