My husband bought this knife in Sedona and it is so unique. He collects small knives and I think this one with the quartz blade is my favorite.
My second choice for Macro Mondays but I thought 'misfit' could be interpreted here as 'essential component'?!

1437.0 carat Star Rose Quartz specimen from Madagascar. In the Gem and Mineral collection at HMNS. It goes by the name of the Love Stone because it sends off strong vibrations of love, happiness, warmth, and emotional health. It possesses energy related to the heart chakra.
I'll never forget this night out with Matt Shiffler and Cosmic Chaos Adventures LLC such an incredible night to be in Alaska under the amazing aurora filled sky.

The King Stone at Garry Beach, with its crystal heart of quartz, is one of these natural monuments which seem to reflect that reciprocity of man and nature. We gaze upon it, touch it and feel its touch upon our own souls. 'Here I stand upon shifting sands and rolling waves, yet I will not be moved'.

Quartz Tower is a part of Q Residences, which is a residential complex composed of two buildings located in the district of Buitenveldert in Amsterdam. Quartz Tower, which is 75 metres tall, was designed by Studio Gang and inaugurated in 2022.

Agate is a fine-grained variety of quartz known as chalcedony that shows concentric color banding. The colors in this agate are caused by microscopic inclusions of iron oxide minerals in the quartz. Agates are commonly found in cavities in volcanic rock, where silica-rich water deposited quartz crystals layer by layer parallel to the cavity wall.
Brazil is the major commercial source of agate.
Bow Fiddle Rock is a natural sea arch near Portknockie on the north-eastern coast of Scotland. It is so called because it resembles the tip of a fiddle bow. It is composed of Quartzite, a metamorphic rock which was originally quartz sandstone.
This rock is part of the Cullen Quartzite formation which is seen along the coast between Buckie and Cullen. The formation is some 2,400m thick and dates from the Neoproterozoic Era, 1,000 to 541 million years ago.

A Chicago & North Western ballast train, loaded with “Pink Lady” quartz ballast from the company-owned Rock Springs quarry, departs Janesville, Wisconsin, on the morning of July 8, 1995. The eastbound train is powered by a quartet of former Conrail EMD GP40s that C&NW bought from CR, along with an EMD MP15. The large yard full of auto racks and auto parts boxcars is traffic for the extensive automobile factory, General Motors’ Janesville Assembly Plant, on the south side of town. Opened in 1919, it was the oldest operating GM plant, until it was completely shut down in 2009.
You will find lots of Quartz veins running around and in crevices of Monzogranite boulders and rocks in Joshua Tree National Park.

Quartz striations on a tiny island in Voyageurs, northern Minnesota
Woke up early yesterday morning (and the day before) to kayak through the archipelagos, this morning beaching at each small island to explore its "intimate landscapes" (I love/hate that term) - ancient rock and fresh moss, beaver skeletons and lake-tossed driftwood.
