Keep shining bright, my friends!

Pleione orchids series. An attractive Pleione is the last that come to bloom out of 9 hybrids we’ve got early February and probably most handsome looking one. It was labelled Pleione speciose ‘Blakeway Philips’ (also known as Pln. pleionoides ‘Blakeway Philips’). This is not a registered hybrid accepted by the RHS. Some sites list it as a clone of variable appearance and Google images were not helpful in finding what flowers should look like – thrill of the unknown. Here is our ‘version’ of Pleione 'Blakeway Phillips', and it’s still growing. Pleione orchids are miniature orchids with large flowers that in the wild grow on foothills and in mountain areas of East and South East countries. Common names include Peacock orchids thank to large showy flowers or Windowsill orchids due to small plant sizes. Native names include Glory of the East, Himalayan crocus, Indian crocus. 362 different garden hybrids are registered officially by the RHS.

Found this oddity just West of Maple Creek Camp, thought that it was cool enough to share.

These four hungry little beasts were hopping under the bushes but for once they came out to warm up in the sun.

Seen at Chestnut Grove Natural Area in Lancaster County, PA, these four youngsters are all male according to someone who helped to band them. At the time I took this shot, they were probably about a week from fledging.

♥ Thank you very much for your visits, faves, and kind comments ♥

Another backyard Bluebird. There are five regular visitors lately and I think they are the same quadruplets that showed up shortly after fledging last summer plus one of the parents. Since I believe the adult male was taken out by Huricane Beryl, it will be interesting to see if any of these will use the nest box this spring.

BANDELE is an African Lion born *31.03.2011 in Hamburg as one of a quadruplet. Together with his brother Batou he has been living in #TierparkHellabrunn since 21.03.2012. His sisters Naledi and Sakina are living in two different zoos in Sri Lanka now.

>>> Their mother Tambesi (*2003 in Denmark) was sent from Hamburg to a zoo in Denmark for a couple of weeks after her male partner in HH had died. She became pregnant and returned to HH where she gave birth to the quadruplet.

Naviri her older son (* 2006) was sterilized and believed he was the father of the lion babies. That’s why he was involved in caring for the four lion babies together with Tambesi and her sister Carbora.

The Rosette Nebula (also known as Caldwell 49) is an H II region located near one end of a giant molecular cloud in the Monoceros region of the Milky Way Galaxy. The open cluster NGC 2244 (Caldwell 50) is closely associated with the nebulosity, the stars of the cluster having been formed from the nebula's matter. (Wikipedia)

According to AI, armadillos are unique because they are the only mammals with a shell-like covering, though they still possess hair (wiry hairs on their underside) and nurse their young; in addition, the Nine-banded Armadillo, pictured above and the only armadillo living in the US, always gives birth to identical quadruplets.

Sh 2-155 (also designated Caldwell 9, Sharpless 155 or S155, or LBN529) is a diffuse nebula in the constellation Cepheus, within a larger nebula complex containing emission, reflection, and dark nebulosity. It is widely known as the Cave Nebula, though that name was applied earlier to Ced 201, a different nebula in Cepheus. Sh 2-155 is an ionized H II region with ongoing star formation activity, at an estimated distance of 725 parsecs (2400 light-years) from Earth.

Sh 2-155 was first noted as a galactic emission nebula in 1959 in the extended second edition of the Sharpless catalogue, being a part of the much larger Cep OB3 Association. Although Sh 2-155 is relatively faint for amateur observation, some of its structure may be seen visually through a moderately sized telescope under dark skies. (Wikipedia)

Needle Galaxy NGC 4565

NGC 4565 is a bright spiral galaxy in the constellation Coma Berenices in the northern sky. Because only the narrow side of the disk-shaped galaxy is visible from Earth, it is also called a Needle Galaxy in reference to this thin, elongated appearance. (Wikipedia)

At 24 years ol Grizzly399 with her quadruplets in Grand Teton National Park

The far far far most difficult target I did. I collected 28.5 hours of data and couldn't collect the OIII data because I haven't got a filter for it. My good friend collect 8.5 hours of data in OIII for me.

After that I stacked my data and Andy send me the stacked OIII data. Then I tried to combine them both together.

Never did that before and oh my god it wasn't easy when you do it the first time.

It is far away from perfect now but I am for the first time happy with it what I did here.
