Been a long time since I put up a Saturday Night Special. I barely have enough time to process my own slides. A pair of bigs are in charge of HB-3 at QD in Binghamton, NY on May 31, 1978, I spent a lot of time on the Southern Tier in 1978, but never saw anything like this. Photo by Larry Moss.

On a sunny April afternoon, CSXT 3454 roars under the QD-126 NYC signal bridge in Ashtabula, OH. Now, these signals are long gone as they were cut over in November.
CSX loaded ethanol train K662 rolls under the signal bridge at QD 88.4 as the train heads east through Erie, Pennsylvania just outside of downtown. A pair of EMD's are on the point, with a veteran SD40-2 leading and one of CSX's SD70ACe-T4's in trail, a locomotive which has since been returned to Progress Rail when the lease ended.

The A&O's 'QD' has picked up its outbound freight at Grafton and is heading back south on a Friday evening at Webster where the former Cowan Sub begins its climb away from what is now the Mountain Sub of CSX in the foreground. Harkening back to B&O days, the QD moniker is in reference to that carriers' Quick Dispatch merchandise trains, of which this is the only one on the A&O.

Esmalte: Lilian - impala.
Usei no Natal .
Se a festa pede vermelho, então vou de verde e preto. Entenderam a lógica da pessoa ?
O lilian é praticamente preto . Não lembra o blue satin mexxxxxmo. Como usei vestido verde o glow ficou indefinido.
Big ex EL SDP-45 6694 leads a Westbound that is stopped for a crew change at QD in Binghamton, NY on March 31, 1979. I mostly ignored the Conrail action around Binghamton at the time since the D&H was of more interest.

A ex EL, now CR, switcher and caboose are parked at QD in Binghamton, NY. It seemed like most times that I went to Binghamton that this was the typical gloomy weather that I got. I still like what this photo shows though, since so much is gone now. There are no more cabooses in regular service. The EL and CR are gone. The signal is gone. The D&H 40 foot boxcars are gone as well as the D&H itself. Now I'm glad I have this photo, but at the time I was not pleased with the results from most of these gloomy day trips.
