Wonderful walking with colourful splashes of alpine spring flowers, but really needed to be on the Spanish side to avoid the glare of the sun!
The Pyrenees is a mountain range straddling the border of France and Spain. It extends nearly 500 km (310 mi). It reaches a maximum altitude of 3,404 metres (11,168 ft). The range is mostly granite and gneissose rocks. The Pyrenees are popular for sports, like hiking, high-altitude training and cycling. Three long-distance footpaths run the length of the mountain range.
