Kawah Putih (English: White Crater) is a striking crater lake and tourist spot in a volcanic crater about 50 km south ofBandung in West Java in Indonesia.
Kawah Putih lake (7.10° S 107.24° E) is one of the two craters which make up Mount Patuha, an andesitic stratovolcano (a "composite" volcano). Mt Patuha is one of numerousvolcanoes in Java. Kawah Putih crater lake itself represents a relatively stable volcanic system with no records of significant activity since around 1600. -wikipedia-
Kawah Putih means White Crater, located at South Bandung (West Java). It took about 1,5 hours drive from Bandung. There are several tourism objects near Kawah Putih such as Cidaun, Situ Patenggang, Ranca Upas, Strawberry field (that we can pick our own strawberry), so make sure you visit several places when you go to South Bandung, due to it's quite far distance from Bandung.
Kawah Putih can have different color in their lake, because it is covered by an active (fumarolic) volcano which has been dormant since 1600. As such they water is typically acidic, saturated with volcanic gases, and cloudy with a strong greenish color.
A relatively stable volcano that was last active since 1600.
A striking crater highly acid lake which changes color from bluish to whitish green or brown and popular tourist spot.

Kawah Putih (White Lake) - Cidewi, Indonesia
This is a dormant volcano with a lake formed in it's crater. The water casts an eerie milky- turquoise color. It's not as inviting as it seems although according to our guide the water is medicinal. I have not seen a single person swimming or diving in the water. Perhaps that's a good idea. The air smells of rotten-egg because of the sulfur compounds in the water. Care for a dip, anyone? (I saturated the colors a little bit for effect)

329) White Breasted Woodswallow
White-Breasted Woodswallow, Artamus leucorynchus, Lelayang Dada Putih
This is a residen bird in Malaysia, but the large flocks occur during winter down under from Australia. This species can usually be seen in open country catching insects on the wing. The white-breasted woodswallow has large, pointed wings and is very agile in powered and gliding flight. This is a nomadic species, following the best conditions for flying insects, and often roosting in large flocks. Despite its brush-tipped tongue, usually associated with nectar feeders, it catches insects on the wing.
