To me this tulip looked a little bit like a clamshell. In little over a month these beauties wiill be pushing their way up through the earth to greet Spring.
Joanne, Yvonne & Alison organised a fabulous active wide game in the park by the Cudgegong River in Mudgee. Working in patrols leaders followed clues to find pieces of a puzzle, engage in the actions stops, the puzzle pieces were put together by the team to spell out a mesage.
New cadets from Companies C and E begin another day of Cadet Basic Training with a workout at River Courts Aug. 2. The physical fitness session was Circuit 1 Interval training which meant the new cadets were working toward muscle failure in a series of exercises to include pullups, dips, pushups and situps. After each score, the male cheerleaders do a number of pushups equal to the total Illinois score. The score here was Illinois 52, Kent State 3 - so, 52 pushups.
The women do flips down the line and back, as you can see here.
The total number of pushups the men did that day is left as an exercise for the interested reader.
Inspired by Chris Owens, Steve Ford and Chris Baca, I am trying to do the 100 pushup challenge. I started late, so I had to do the first 7 days worth all at once. So much for form. Hopefully I can look back at this and see progress!

It's not just waving pom pom's and yelling "Yay team", the Utah Utes cheerleaders do pushups each time their Utes score. They scored a lot today, 49 in fact against Colorado State
The Rabble Rousers do pushups after an Army touchdown. In a hard-fought game, Army played valiantly but came up short against fifth-ranked Stanford in a 34-20 loss at Michie Stadium Saturday. Sophomore kicker Daniel Grochowski hit a career-high 48-yard field goal to help the Black Knights to an early 6-0 lead. Junior fullback Larry Dixon ran for a 15-yard score just before the half, which closed the deficit to 17-13 at the time. To close out the scoring on the day, freshman wide receiver Edgar Poe caught his first collegiate touchdown on a 6-yard pass play from sophomore quarterback A.J. Schurr. Other big plays on the day included an interception by freshman cornerback Josh Jenkins in the end zone, sacks by junior defensive end Mike Ugenyi and sophomore defensive end Dalton Mendenhall and 96 yards rushing by junior running back Terry Baggett.
