How important is it not to look at things in a different perspective

The meta perspective is super to use when you are wondering about your own life and how to deal with your stuff

I've used it so many times

It's like I'm getting out of my own body and mind, looking at myself and my doings from above, looking in an objective way, not judging

And suddenly you will see that you get a new understanding, you see it all in a new light

Incredible cool tool

Have a gorgeous Crazy Tuesday, with all these photos from above I think we all will be influenced to look upon everything with a new light

lol

Reposting for Purple Day - Epilepsy Awareness Day 26th March.

ORIGINALLY POSTED AS: A few times a year there are events and dates set aside for epilepsy awareness. On the 23rd of June is Dravet Syndrome Awareness Day. This is the syndrome that affects my son and is considered to be one of the nasties of the epilepsy world. So for each event I create something new in purple and this is my latest contribution for this virtual event.

If you would like to purple up for the event and want your image to be included on the event page I've created please consider adding an image to either the event page link in the next paragraph (Facebook) or add the image to your Flickr page and let me know the link either in PM or on this thread so I can share it for you.

The event is on the DravetData.com Facebook page. The direct link to the event is: www.facebook.com/events/1557408137821796/

A sunny, colourful shrub for Friday :) Photographed back in April 2018 at the Britzer Garten, one of the most beautiful public parks in Berlin. I was attracted by the beautiful purple leaves of this plant, and I think this could be a purple smoke bush (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Yesterday I've also learned that 26 March is "Purple Day", the international epilepsy awareness day, so it's a nice coincidence that I had planned to upload this purple-leaved beauty for this week's Freitagsblümchen (friday flora). "Purple Day" was founded in 2008 by then 9-year-old Cassidy Megan in order to help to "dispel common myths and fears of this neurological disorder" and "to reduce the social stigmas commonly endured by many individuals afflicted with the condition." (source: Wikipedia) Thank you Just call me, Paul for bringing this special day to our attention. This is the official website of Purple Day: Strg/Ctrl+ www.purpleday.org/.

Wishing you a Happy and safe weekend, dear Flickr friends!

The Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve in Huntington Beach, California is an approximately 1,500 acre coastal estuary. Habitats include open water, mudflats, salt marsh, coastal dunes, seabird nesting islands, riparian, and freshwater marsh. More than 200 avian species have been identified at Bolsa Chica and the reserve is very popular with birders and photographers.

The Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve is one of the largest remaining saltwater marshes along the California coast. At nearly 1,500 acres, these local wetlands are a critical habitat for endangered and threatened species, as well as a nursery and year-round home for many species of aquatic creatures and fish.

Thinking of my dear friend Just call me, Paul his wife Margaret & son Marc on today which is Epilepsy Awareness Day. Paul I hope you'll forgive me for copying & pasting this information you uploaded on your photo today. Hi Marc, hope it's been a good day & you've kept your Dad busy with jobs in the garden. Did I mention purple is my favourite colour?

"Purple day was created in 2008 by Cassidy Megan, a young girl from Canada, who has epilepsy and wanted to get people talking about the condition. Cassidy decided to use the colour purple because lavender is recognised as the international flower of epilepsy. Cassidy not only wanted to raise awareness but also assure people with epilepsy that they are not alone.

Over the past 9 years Purple day has grown to be a global event and we are proud to be an an official Purple Day partner and raise awareness of the impact epilepsy can have on people's lives. There are so many ways you can help us start a conversation, and make difference this Purple day".

Wild Perennial Lupine (Lupinus perennis) is a showy native wildflower that blooms in late spring with spikes of blue and bluish-purple flowers. This species must be planted in a sandy soil where it will pull nitrogen from the air and enrich the soil that surrounds it. Once established, it will naturalize, attracting bees, birds, butterflies, and hummingbirds.

I missed the little bunch of crocuses that sprout up at the base of the tree in front every year. There was only one sad one left when I went out there today for my purple shot, so I had to go out looking for a purple barn instead. ;)

Thank you for the kind words about my son. He did pretty well today, his first day home. He will make a full recovery, it's just going to take some time (and patience) to get there. He was very lucky and we are very grateful for that. The first day, while he was being moved from the ER to ICU, I had time to think while we waited. All sorts of things went through my head, one was should I continue with my 366, how could I continue? This particular son is one of my 365 champions, and I didn't want him to feel bad that I had stopped. So I decided to take a snapshot with my phone every day and continue on.

Today's shot is for the We're Here theme: Purple Day

A purple flower for Purple Day.

Purple Day - 26 March will be the official day that increases awareness of epilepsy all across the globe. So what has the colour purple got to do with epilepsy?

Well the answer is that lavender is the international colour for epilepsy. Why? Because the lavender flower is often related to the isolation and loneliness that people suffering from the condition often feel.

The colour was actually chosen by a girl called Cassidy Megan, who launched the day with the help of the Epilepsy Association of Nova Scotia. The aim is for people suffering to feel less alone!

The reason its so important to get this message spreading around the world is because 50 million people suffer from the epilepsy worldwide. An MP in Canada has even introduced the Purple Day Act to parliament in Canada - lets hope they pass that bill!

Unfortunately there is often a stigma attached to epilepsy - a stigma that needs to be eradicated. While some people will remember their seizure, and others will have no memory of it happening, depending on the type of seizure that they have encountered. Although there is no cure currently, avoiding triggers is said to help.

Triggers include stress, a bad sleeping pattern, exposure to flashing lights and forgetting to take medication.

So what can you do to help? You could become an Ambassador of Purple where you live. This basically means getting your purple gear on and educating loved ones and local politicians about epilepsy.

Whether you decide to be an ambassador or not, your role wil be similar. Get your purple clothes on, even paint yourself purple learn the quick facts by visiting the Purple Day to raise awareness and show people you know what you're talking about! Plan a fundraising event, any sort of event that involves the colour purple, whether it be a bakesale with purple cupcakes or something else you can think of!

From Purpleday.org Purple Day is an international grassroots effort dedicated to increasing awareness about epilepsy worldwide. On March 26th annually, people in countries around the world are invited to wear purple and host events in support of epilepsy awareness. Last year, people in dozens of countries on all continents including Antarctica participated in Purple Day! I love someone with Epilepsy - this is for Sarah.

From walk around the Imperial Palace for Purple Day (epilepsy awareness).

Today was Spirit Day, a day to wear purple and to remember the youth who have have taken their own lives due to homophobia and bullying. A day that has had more impact on me than I thought it would, for as I sat on the bus this morning, and in fact all through the day, I pondered the senseless act of belittling, degrading and terrorizing another human being until they feel they have no other choice but to end their life.

Why are so many young people dying just for being themselves?

When I was eleven years old, I lost my uncle Allan to suicide, he was not gay nor was he bullied, he was a grown man with many issues stemming from substance abuse and depression. He may not have suffered homophobia, but I do know what it's like to lose a loved one to suicide, it rips apart families, it forever changes the lives of all who knew that person, who loved that person.

So to all of you out there who are suffering and feel alone, please don't hesitate to message me, I may not have the best advice but I do listen, and I'll help you to the very best of my abilities.

And to all of you out there that are homophobic, racist, sexist, or just get pure enjoyment out of the suffering of others, take a good long look at yourselves and what you're really doing.

No matter our race, gender, or sexual orientation, we all bleed the same color, we all hurt, and we all love.

Today is Purple Day for Epilepsy Take a moment to learn, and to think how it must be.
