A Common seal youngster, was great to come across this little fella on my walk along the beach yesterday
This pup's best chance is a strong bond with it's mom. This mama seems to have a very good one with her pup. She helped it in every way she could. I observed a lot of bonding activity including the pup riding on her back. You can see how difficult it is for the pup to stay on the log.
Rotti pup is getting used to traveling in a car...hard to believe she is only four months old!

Second in my small critters series is this shot of four Black-tailed Prairie Dog pups. We enjoyed watching them venture no more than a few feet from the safety of their burrow and then scurry back at the least hint of a threat. Newest citizens of a prairie dog town in Custer State Park, South Dakota.
During early spring i had the opportunity to watch and photograph red fox pups at their densite, unforgetable moments. You can watch a short clip of them here: youtu.be/Qj7q0BaS5hs
Looking forward to see adorable fox pups this spring...Bavaria, Germany

From the 2016 November birthing season at Donna Nook on the Lincolnshire coast.
Every November and December, grey seals come to the Donna Nook coastline to give birth to their pups near the sand dunes.
1,957 pups were born in the 2016 season., last year 2,134 were born.
The Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust manage this National Nature reserve.
Here in Manitoba (Riding Mountain Park) coming across a wolf is very rare so despite less than ideal lighting I was thrilled to encounter such a beautiful creature!
Looks as if he would love to play but I think he was wishing that I would go away and not scare his prey.
Captured in: Smithtown, NY.
Pictured here is another portrait of our new labrador Jax. It's hard to believe how quick these pups grow up... He's only been with us for about 4 months, but he's quickly gaining in size on our other lab Bailey.
It won't take long before he's bigger than her, as I believe he'll probably grow to 90 - 100+ lbs before all's said and done. He's going to be a big boy for sure considering the size of those paws!

"The Inquisitive Pup" is a non-HDR image that was processed using a combination of ACR, Photoshop and various Topaz Labs Plugins (Adjust, AI Clear, Denoise, Glow, and Impression).
This pup, almost out of baby-fluff, came up the beach for a closer look. I stayed a respectful distance and used the long lens for this portrait.
At sunrise on January 6, 2011, BNSF's Denver to Chicago Z-train flies eastbound at Barr, Colorado, with the morning sun silhouetting UPS “pup” trailers headed for the Windy City.
One of at least six or seven fox pups, during the spring i was quite blessed to have so many fox encounters like never before. They're almost fully grown up by now and learn to hunt by themselves. Hope many of them survive and don't get shot. In areas of intense hunting the red fox litter is much bigger (up to 8-10 pups) than in areas where is no or only little hunting (3-4 pups)...Southern Bavaria
So it appears my plans are foiled by the muckity-mucks at flickr.... it seems if you add a picture to a group you can't leave it with favorites only. Members of the group can still comment on the photo.
So, I will just put it out there.. I will continue to post, comment if you wish they have always been and will continue to be greatly appreciated. I will attempt to do the best I can do... but know that I am checking in and I am still enjoying the places you take me!

From some fox photos I took in 2012 but never posted this one.
This pup was from a litter under a shed in the neighbourhood.
A trip back into the archives for this picture of Willow and Schaefer back in 2018. Taken by the railway tracks used once a week by the heritage railway, which have previously featured on this blog with my Canon. I am not sure, in all honesty, whether I took this picture or Samuel did. We did a bit of photography there around that time. I like the colours, which from memory would not have been particularly 'processed'. Schaefer probably also likes the colours, given there is a lot less grey in his coat than these days.
