The F. E. Myers Pump Works in Ashland, Ohio was founded in the 1870's. They were so successful in the manufacturing of water pumps they built this building in 1885. This building also housed the Hess & Clark Factory which sold veterinarian supplies in 1893.
I have no idea what this little shed was originally for, but it's been steadily deteriorating next to a busy highway for a number of years. There are no other buildings nearby.

Coast Guard HU-25 Guardians had a pretty cool little feature for rescue missions, a hatch in the cabin just aft of the flight deck through which a flight engineer could drop either a water pump to help sailors slow or stop their vessel from sinking, or life rafts for those who had to abandon ship. In front of the hatch is a small panel that blocks the hatch, allowing the bundles being dropped to completely clear the aircraft without being blown against the lower fuselage and potentially damaging the aircraft.

“I do not recommend this method for AcrosII. Very thin negatives”.
Taken at the Gimson Arts and Crafts cottage in the Charnwood Forest, UK. The cottage has been renovated by The National Trust and it is beautiful. I shouldn't think the ladder is a permanent feature, but even it looked artistically placed at the time!
These days, water pumps like this one are rare and ones that still work even more so. I remember using one as a child! It certainly makes me very grateful to have hot & cold running water in my house!
Pump House, Beacons Reservoir, Brecon Beacons. Lovely little building which sends the water on it's way!

My first post on Smile on Saturday. I keep forgetting I belong to this group, but happy I could contribute this week.
At least I think it's a pump of some sort. I saw it on the side of some kind of railroad car. Don't know what it was. Thought it looked interesting. Took picture. Processed it. Posted here.

The impressive Victorian Pumping Station at Papplewick.
Taken during the Steam Punk weekend.
Fulwell Pumping Station was built in 1853, designed by Thomas Hawksley. Constructed for the Sunderland and South Shields Water Company it began operating by 1856, powered by two 70 horsepower rotative pumping engines. The site is still operational using electric pumps. The enginehouse and attached boilerhouse is listed Grade II.
This is Leawood Pump House, on the Cromford Canal, near High Peak Junction in the Derbyshire Dales. It was built to pump water into the canal system, from the nearby river Derwent. It is one of an occasional series of photographs which I have given the title "The World From Fifty Feet", which is intended to illustrate the hugely different perspective on life when looked at from a relatively low altitude. Taken with the DJI Mini 3 Pro drone.
The sand and water pump from the dredge “Paynesville”. The 130 tonne dredge operated in the Gippsland Lakes from 1928 until 1987 when it was replaced by the suction hopper dredge “Sandpipper”, which itself has been replaced by the contracted New Zealand suction hopper dredge “Pelican” while the Gippsland Ports new suction hopper dredge is being built.
The wooden hull of the vessel was built in the latter part of the 19th century as a floating pier in the Yarra River in Melbourne. It was then used as a lighter in the river before being moved to Port Albert in 1920 where it was used as the base for a grab dredge.
In 1928 the hull was moved to Paynesville and converted into a suction dredge. It was fitted out with a Hornsby oil engine and Thompson gravel pump shown in this image.
It was capable of dredging to 6 metres and pumping slurry 300 metres through a 300mm floating pipeline. The sections of this pipeline wooden slats bound by spirally wound steel straps.
The dredge was maneuvered by a system of anchors and steam driven winches. The dredge was towed from site to site by the motor vessel Avon which is now privately owned and can still be seen operating on the lakes. Lakes Entrance, Gippsland Lakes, Victoria, Australia.
