This clock is more than 300 years old. Stones on its dial and pendulum are precious gems called White Sapphire (Saphed Pukhraj).
I felt this photo to be appropriate for upload on the very last day of 2008 as this clock too had seen the sorrows and happiness of 2008 and added one more year to its journey with us!

ملکہ پکھراج اپنے وقت کی مشہور اور بڑی گلوکارہ تھیں۔ ان کے شوہر سید شبیر حسین شاہ ہمارے مسلم ٹاؤن کے باسی تھے۔ سب بچے بھی مسلم ٹاؤن ہی میں پیدا ہوے۔ غالبا" 1966 یا 1967 میں مسلم تاؤن سے ترکِ سکونت کر کے ماڈل ٹاؤن کے جے بلاک میں جا بسے تھے۔ میں نے شاہ جی کو آخری مرتبہ اسی گھر کے لان میں دیکھا تھا جب میں ان کو اپنے بڑے بھائی فاروق ارشد شاہین مرحوم کی شادی کا کارڈ پہنچانے گیا تھا۔ ان کی وفات کے بعد ملکہ پکھراج نے نہر پر ہنجروال موڑ کے ساتھ اپنا گھر بنا لیا جو ان کے بڑے داماد ایس ایم ظفر کے گھر سے قریب تھا۔ یہیں پر انتقال ہوا۔ طاہرہ سید انہی کی بیٹی ہیں۔ ان کے ایک صاحب زادے میجر تنویر حسین سید نے ستارہ ء جرات حاصل کیا تھا۔ 2002 میں پیپلز پارٹی کے ٹکٹ پر ایم این اے بنے لیکن ان دس ایم این ایز میں شامل تھے جن کے ضمیر اشارے پر فوری طور پر جاگے تھے :)
