The Chester Roberts Park is very small and it can only accommodate a few vehicles in its parking lot, Nevertheless, it affords a beautiful view of the Peace River. The park is situated along the shoreline in Port Charlotte, Florida, next to the bridge carrying Hwy. 41 traffic between Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda.

Another day, another bench to sit on. Those composite pictures are a completely new experience and obsession for me. I hope you like it as much as I do !!! This one is a melancholic bench to sit on and reflect on the last year … or just to watch the universe and think about the future… or the present. Or maybe this is bench for singles to sit on and wait for love ? Who knows ? All we can say is: there is a bench on a pencil with a red ballon floating in mid air and a lamp post. But it is way less romantic than a waiting for love bench…

Few years ago, we were living in Algeria and there was this guy ( all the Polish community in Algeria was calling him Dziad) buying used stuff from foreigners and selling it to local people. Usually we would go see him once a year, bringing our stuff (and our neighbors stuff) to sell. Dziad was living near the desert and it was always an awesome trip that I was very excited to on go each year… One particular year, my Dad was asked by a friend to bring « something » to sell… since the favour was asked during a Polish party all my Dad could remember was the name of his friend but he could not remember what exactly the item to sell was. It was all wrapped in a huge plastic bag so only by touching it my Dad was convinced it was a huge tent. Of course, being a man he didn’t want to ask his friend and so we went to sell a huge tent. No need to tell that the « huge tent » was a huge selling success and my Dad got a very good price for it. Returning home, my Dad gave his friend the money telling him how his huge tent was an awesome item to sell… My Dad’s friend was very surprised since it wasn’t a tent at all but an inflatable boat… Since this day, I can’t stop thinking about a Touareg man sleeping in a desert, under a very starry sky in his inflatable boat….

Home sweet home… Once again, this weekend, we did some work on our house. We are all still sick so nothing major was done but each time we are closer and closer to the finish line. This project clearly showed us that home is where the heart is. I know for a fact that without my husband, sons and our parents this project would never be possible. So no matter where this house will end up, it will always be my home as long as I’m with my family. And just for your information: our Christmas tree is up and shining bright like a diamond (I know it is late but it is still in time for Christmas...).

Today Major Tom is waiting for a very, very important call. He is about to reconnect with his past and some very good childhood friends. He doesn’t want to miss this call so that is why he has his phone near while doing his astronaut’s stuff on the moon. There is also a very red and large phone booth, just few steps away… Of course, he has to use the old ladder to get to it, but even with his astronaut suit he is very, very fast. He completed the astronauts training after all, and there was a special section « ladder climbing for dummies and astronauts » so I’m sure he will be able to answer the phone in time !

Another surreal vision of mine. I must admit, I love creating those composite pictures with my « old » photos. It is a challenge for my imagination but also I improve my Photoshop skills for sure ! Today we have a very comfy chair under a full moon: perfect set up for reflecting on the passing time … or just enjoying a glass of gin and tonic (why not ? Gin and tonic will help the reflection for sure !)… I hope you like my surreal visions as much as I do.

Full moon comes always with its share of strange pictures in my head. Don’t ask me about this one…I like pencils (especially the small and old ones), I like anything moon related, I like cameras and I like birds (but not in cages…). So here is a combination of those four elements. In my opinion birds would make awesome photographers, don’t you think ?

It is a well known fact that flamingos are always surrounded by hearts… especially on this feed. Flamingos are associated with love… And this flamingo has lots of hearts around him because our Mr. Flamingo (yes, I confirm, it is a boy... don't be fooled by his awesome pinkish hue) is single and he is looking for love everywhere… even on the Internet. Virtual flamingo love is better than no love at all, don’t you think ? And since it is Friday, I wish you all a lovely weekend and good luck if you are searching for love like Mr. Flamingo !

It is Monday, everything is back to normal in my case… And Mr. Flamingo is back for his first snow experience. Of course, he loved it ! When you see the beautiful Canadian winter and the snow for the first time you are truly flabbergasted. But then you realize that the snow will stay for a very, very long time … So after few years of Canadian winters you realize that you don’t like the snow as much as you thought the first time… Also, I don’t think the love relation towards snow will last in Mr. Flamingo case: apparently he doesn’t have any winter boots (which are mandatory when you want to spend winter in Canada)…Next time I will have to use some Photoshop magic and give him some winter boots or even a hat, unfortunately it was too late for that today...

Who else hates waiting for a bus when it is cold and late outside ? Well apparently Little Prince don’t mind but he is a very positive person for sure. In my case: I prefer walking for hours, during a snowstorm, wearing my most uncomfortable shoes (why do I think about stilettos ???), than waiting for a bus. Of course sometimes, I will arrive much, much later than the bus but at least I didn’t spend a minute waiting near a bus stop doing nothing… Let’s just hope that Little Prince will not have to wait for very long and that the bus will be on time…
FYI: it has been ages since I took a bus, so this picture isn't inspired by my personal experience....and by the way, I hate driving almost as much as I hate waiting for a bus....

One of my old time favourites!
In 2010 I belonged to six photographers who were invited to take photo's in the Theatres of Tilburg, during several weeks.
The Theatre celebrated its 50 years anniversary back then. This was one of my photo's at the exhibition that followed. There was also a publication made.

With majestic Ponderosa pines towering up to 130 feet overhead, I find that it’s easy to overlook the understory life quietly persisting on the forest floor. Scattered among the pine needles and shade, small Oregon Grape saplings like this one struggle for light and moisture, their holly-like leaves turning brilliant shades of red in early fall. Soon to be blanketed by snow in this northern Montana wilderness, these hardy little plants face a long battle for survival in the shadow of giants.
This photo was taken in early September in the Kootenai National Forest, just a few miles south of the Canadian border. The towering pines shape the forest ecosystem, influencing light and soil conditions, while the delicate balance of understory vegetation sustains much of the forest’s diversity.
Yay for the little guys!
