I’m not a happy camper at all…Today, we will have our first snow of the season 22-23, in Montreal. And, if you know me (or even if you don’t know me but you follow me for at least one year), you probably well aware of the fact that I absolute hate winter… Which is ironic since I live in Canada. I feel like the giraffe in my picture: completely out of place today and in urgent need of a bottle of white wine (yes, I know it is not even 9am…). Yesterday, they announced between 10-15 cm of snow, we will see in the morning if the weather forecast was right …Just for the record: I’m totally not at peace with idea of snow in November and I’m not at peace with the idea of Christmas trees in November either !!! Why ??? It is way too early !!! I barely got enough of fall and it is already winter…That is the irony of my life people.

Few years ago, we were living in Algeria and there was this guy ( all the Polish community in Algeria was calling him Dziad) buying used stuff from foreigners and selling it to local people. Usually we would go see him once a year, bringing our stuff (and our neighbors stuff) to sell. Dziad was living near the desert and it was always an awesome trip that I was very excited to on go each year… One particular year, my Dad was asked by a friend to bring « something » to sell… since the favour was asked during a Polish party all my Dad could remember was the name of his friend but he could not remember what exactly the item to sell was. It was all wrapped in a huge plastic bag so only by touching it my Dad was convinced it was a huge tent. Of course, being a man he didn’t want to ask his friend and so we went to sell a huge tent. No need to tell that the « huge tent » was a huge selling success and my Dad got a very good price for it. Returning home, my Dad gave his friend the money telling him how his huge tent was an awesome item to sell… My Dad’s friend was very surprised since it wasn’t a tent at all but an inflatable boat… Since this day, I can’t stop thinking about a Touareg man sleeping in a desert, under a very starry sky in his inflatable boat….

Today we have another moon picture just in case… I sure don’t want to run out of full moon pictures on this feed for sure ! Would you be able to live in this tiny house, without internet, social media, phones or TV for 3 months or not ? In my case : it is a YES ! But I just hope I would be able to bring my camera...and my husband...and my sons...and my parents...and my sister ...and well all my family and friends !!!

Today we have another photographic experiment. I honestly have no idea what inspired this picture… All I can think about is the fact that I have an eggs obsession and usually when I’m cooking my eggs, there is constantly something going on and I‘m getting distracted… Of course, we all know that distraction during cooking may be very, very dangerous… especially when you are very, very picky and difficult about how your eggs are done (usually I love my eggs not burnt, which seems to be rather difficult to achieve, especially on weekends). As you can see in this picture: there is a lot of distractions happening around our egg… The laws of physics don’t apply in this picture for sure, but this egg looks very delicious !

Another Sunday, another hungover. Yes my friends, I had an awesome time with my parents and my husband yesterday. We had some (lots of …) wine, changed the world and discussed some major problems like social medias, renovations, fashion, jewellery and cosmetics (the last 3 topics were for my Mom and I). We voluntarily avoided snow and politics LOL. Today my head hurts a little bit and I only have an old picture to publish but it doesn't mean that I will not run on my treadmill ! No matter what : I will run… maybe in zigzags and at a rather slow pace but I will do it ! Wish me luck ….

Home sweet home… Once again, this weekend, we did some work on our house. We are all still sick so nothing major was done but each time we are closer and closer to the finish line. This project clearly showed us that home is where the heart is. I know for a fact that without my husband, sons and our parents this project would never be possible. So no matter where this house will end up, it will always be my home as long as I’m with my family. And just for your information: our Christmas tree is up and shining bright like a diamond (I know it is late but it is still in time for Christmas...).

Great Crested Grebe - Podiceps Cristatus
The great crested grebe has an elaborate mating display. Like all grebes, it nests on the water's edge, since its legs are set relatively far back and it is thus unable to walk very well. Usually two eggs are laid, and the fluffy, striped young grebes are often carried on the adult's back. In a clutch of two or more hatchlings, male and female grebes will each identify their 'favourites', which they alone will care for and teach
Unusually, young grebes are capable of swimming and diving almost at hatching. The adults teach these skills to their young by carrying them on their back and diving, leaving the chicks to float on the surface; they then re-emerge a few feet away so that the chicks may swim back onto them.
The great crested grebe feeds mainly on fish, but also small crustaceans, insects small frogs and newts.
This species was hunted almost to extinction in the United Kingdom in the 19th century for its head plumes, which were used to decorate hats and ladies' undergarments. The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds was set up to help protect this species, which is again a common sight.
The great crested grebe and its behaviour was the subject of one of the landmark publications in avian ethology: Julian Huxley's 1914 paper on The Courtship‐habits of the Great Crested Grebe (Podiceps cristatus).

It is a well known fact that flamingos are always surrounded by hearts… especially on this feed. Flamingos are associated with love… And this flamingo has lots of hearts around him because our Mr. Flamingo (yes, I confirm, it is a boy... don't be fooled by his awesome pinkish hue) is single and he is looking for love everywhere… even on the Internet. Virtual flamingo love is better than no love at all, don’t you think ? And since it is Friday, I wish you all a lovely weekend and good luck if you are searching for love like Mr. Flamingo !

It is Monday, everything is back to normal in my case… And Mr. Flamingo is back for his first snow experience. Of course, he loved it ! When you see the beautiful Canadian winter and the snow for the first time you are truly flabbergasted. But then you realize that the snow will stay for a very, very long time … So after few years of Canadian winters you realize that you don’t like the snow as much as you thought the first time… Also, I don’t think the love relation towards snow will last in Mr. Flamingo case: apparently he doesn’t have any winter boots (which are mandatory when you want to spend winter in Canada)…Next time I will have to use some Photoshop magic and give him some winter boots or even a hat, unfortunately it was too late for that today...

Who else hates waiting for a bus when it is cold and late outside ? Well apparently Little Prince don’t mind but he is a very positive person for sure. In my case: I prefer walking for hours, during a snowstorm, wearing my most uncomfortable shoes (why do I think about stilettos ???), than waiting for a bus. Of course sometimes, I will arrive much, much later than the bus but at least I didn’t spend a minute waiting near a bus stop doing nothing… Let’s just hope that Little Prince will not have to wait for very long and that the bus will be on time…
FYI: it has been ages since I took a bus, so this picture isn't inspired by my personal experience....and by the way, I hate driving almost as much as I hate waiting for a bus....

Today we have my first attempt at generating an AI picture. Of course, since it is a very « futuristic » and sci-fi concept for me, I asked Major Tom for help…As you might know, I love eggs and so do Major Tom, that is why we decided to go with an egg, as our first attempt…Floating egg, on a space background. Don’t ask me, why I got 2 eggs in my picture (it is a learning process yet…), but that is what I will eat this morning. What do you think about AI art ? In my opinion, it is still art but who knows, maybe I’m wrong…

The Royal Liver Building /ˈlaɪvər/ is a Grade I listed building in Liverpool, England. It is located at the Pier Head and along with the neighbouring Cunard Building and Port of Liverpool Building is one of Liverpool's Three Graces, which line the city's waterfront. It was also part of Liverpool's formerly UNESCO-designated World Heritage Maritime Mercantile City.
Opened in 1911, the building was the purpose-built home of the Royal Liver Assurance group, which had been set up in the city in 1850 to provide locals with assistance related to losing a wage-earning relative. One of the first buildings in the world to be built using reinforced concrete, the Royal Liver Building stands at 98.2 m (322 ft) tall to the top of the spires, 103.7 metres (340feet) to the top of the birds and 50.9 m (167 ft) to the main roof.
The Royal Liver Building is one of the most recognisable landmarks in the city of Liverpool with its two fabled Liver Birds which watch over the city and the sea. Legend has it that if these two birds were to fly away, the city would cease to exist.
The Liver Birds are 5.5 metres,18 feet high. Their added height gives the Royal Liver Building an overall height of 103.7 metres, 340 feet. A building of skyscraper proportion, and once one of the tallest buildings in the country, the Royal Liver Building is currently the 4th tallest building in Liverpool.

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !!
Today is a green day at Color My World Daily and we have a green picture for that occasion. As a matter of fact, I took this picture few years ago and I totally forgot about it. Then it suddenly came back to my memory. And after a very, very long search on several hard drives, I found this old lost picture. I was impressed by my long term memory, I must admit. And now I feel like an elephant who never forgets. Or who forgets but then remembers suddenly after many, many years, like it was yesterday….
