Had great summer vacation and now back in action. Trying to catch up slowly. I hope you had great time past month as well:)

Northern Lights moments while standing at Koppangen Bay in Northern Norway during low tide. I forgot everything, even where I was standing. A sneaky wave could have carried me away that transfigurated did I feel from the great show in the sky.

** It was tree wonderland in New Hampshire these were in the Franconia Notch State Park.

The only time I ever saw trees like this is in my youth when experimenting with certain substances . It was under the influence of the Incredible String Band and “The Doors of Perception” a book by Aldous Huxley. No regrets but a long time ago and well outside the statue of limitations

Apricot jelly fungus is widely distributed in the Northern hemisphere. The translucent orange fruiting bodies are considered to be edible and typically grow in coniferous forests associated with rotting wood.

You want to feel it right there. That. That feeling. The plan is to infect everyone with HOPE.

I feel direly in need of greenery. So in lack of the natural one I bring you rippled reflections of a green barn by the shore of the river Thames, one from my archives :).

We have finally arrived at our destination in a fjord North of Tromso, Norway. But the flights, drive and ferry transfer have left us sort of knackered So we still have no images from our holidays. Instead I am posting here an image from Iceland from my archives, which feels fitting :)

There was this solitary house in Iceland with all bright right Christmas lights. I took some shots while driving by and this is the startling result, which I confess liking a lot :)

Macro Mondays 28/11/16 theme Beatles/Beetles

For this theme I went with the Beatles 1969 11th studio album Abbey Road. The front cover shows the group on a zebra crossing, was based on ideas sketched by McCartney, and taken outside the EMI Studios in Abbey Road. For my idea I used tiny N gauge VW beetles (1" long and 1/4" high) as the band with beetles as the drivers and John,Paul,Ringo and George as the passengers. For the background I used some CDs and lit the scene from the front.I think I must have been listening to the Magical Mystery Tour album when I decided to do this photo.I'm still tripping....Happy Macro Monday everyone : )

Hopefully this counts as all 3 in 3"

*The term "psychedelic" is derived from the Ancient Greek words psychē (ψυχή, "soul") and dēloun (δηλοῦν, "to make visible, to reveal"), translating to "mind-manifesting". In everyday language, we use it for all those things, colors, feelings, sensations, which take us out of the ordinary, and give us an "escape route" to a dreamy world.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR KIND ATTENTION! ♥️

The Church are an Australian alternative rock band formed in Sydney in 1980. Initially associated with new wave, neo-psychedelia, and indie rock, their music later came to feature slower tempos and surreal soundscapes reminiscent of dream pop and post-rock. "this unique Sydney-originated entity has purveyed a distinctive, ethereal, psychedelic-tinged sound which has alternatively found favour and disfavour in Australia." The Los Angeles Times has described the band's music as "dense, shimmering, exquisite guitar pop" (from Wikipedia).

Sometime in history, there was here, in what we know as Mérida, Yucatán, México, a worship place for the Mayan god Itzamná, however, Spanish conquerors, built over it a little chapel in 1572 and many years later a temple dedicated to Saint Michel Archangel. At this time, it remains the baptismal font in the restored Church of Itzimná.

"Thank you very much for all your faves and stay healthy" :-)

Transition into new dimensions, the old ones are falling into the sea.

A train station platform, track lighting and an ICE train rushing by get you this, when playing with your zoom during exposure.

Here's a pulled-back shot that includes the elements in yesterday's post - visible at the bottom, just right of centre. This surface is curved - it's a car fender, after all - so the only way to capture it in focus edge-to-edge is to use a tripod and stop the lens down. Which is what I did.

As you can see, there's a wealth of material here, and I've returned to it again and again over the years. Stars, a forest, rust flowers - wherever your imagination takes you. It's a Rorschach test for the bold, a deep dive into fantasyland, or maybe pure psychedelia. And it's slowly changing, as the rust spreads and the paint gradually flakes off, layer after layer, revealing whatever's beneath. I would love to have that fender on top of a bookcase in my living room, but it isn't mine to take. A framed print, though... that's very possible.

For the record, this fender is from a 1939 Pontiac that has been sitting in a rancher's pasture for nearly eighty years. I hope it sits there for eighty more.

More to come...

Macro Monday - Foil

After posting my original photo for the theme I realised I had some patterned foil in my craft stash. It's silver but reflects colours in the light. I added the glasses of coloured water to add some extra colour and depth. I also used some tin foil as a reflector. I wonder if it would be better if more were in focus. I may go back to the drawing board to see but I do like a bit of blur. HMM

I've not been posting on Flickr lately...still can't seem to find my mojo. I've also been busy with my little grandson which is great fun but not conducive to photography or Flickr. I've probably missed lots of your images and doubt I'll be able to catch up if I want to keep my sanity. I will pick up on the latest images and take it from there. I'm afraid I may just have to hit the star or make comments short and sweet.

Thank you all so much for your visits, comments and faves...all very much appreciated. Have a lovely week.

And yet you lean on the lever so. Why is that?
