In Greek myth, Psyche (which literally translates to mean “soul”) is represented in the form of a butterfly. Befittingly, Psyche is forever linked with love as she and Eros shared an endlessly passionate bond together – both hopelessly in love with the other.

.............................The butterfly symbolizes that which is beautiful and positive because of the widespread and usually valid opinion that they are, indeed, quite colorful and beautiful. This position is strengthened by the opposing symbolism for moths being ugly and negative. Other symbolism assosiated with butterflies (like femininity, spring) also contribute to people's high regard for butterflies.

I was listening to a Hans Christian Anderson story referencing Psyche. So I made this.

reminded me of Ingmar Bergman's "Hour of the Wolf" dvd cover, so I used sepia and bright lights to capture the same effect.

I'm on my third straight day of Zen sewing to repair my psyche. It has been fabulous. I've been binging movies and documentaries and working on Blythe clothes. This is a combo of stuff for full size Blythe, middie, and a few Halloween witch dresses for petite. I've also made 2 more Halloween dresses, 2 headbands, and 2 witch hats not shown here. The fruit dress is what I'm working on tonight. If I could just do this for about 6 -10 hours a week all year, I would be in much better mental shape! I need my craft time.

Most of the cottons are from Dollar General. I found a bunch of thin lovely fat quarters for them in the Spring (spring green, tan stripes, blue chambray, and blue/green stripes. The striped knits are thrift store onsies. The fruit fabric is a fat quarter from Joannes.
