In Greek myth, Psyche (which literally translates to mean “soul”) is represented in the form of a butterfly. Befittingly, Psyche is forever linked with love as she and Eros shared an endlessly passionate bond together – both hopelessly in love with the other.
.............................The butterfly symbolizes that which is beautiful and positive because of the widespread and usually valid opinion that they are, indeed, quite colorful and beautiful. This position is strengthened by the opposing symbolism for moths being ugly and negative. Other symbolism assosiated with butterflies (like femininity, spring) also contribute to people's high regard for butterflies.

Comfort is a wonderful thing. Except when it isn't. We spend our
days drifting thru the cycles of what is, the cycles of people who
love us or hate us, the cycles of the same thoughts, actions, and tactile
objects that seem to make existance bearable. Where in all these cycles
is the pure energy that is to be life? When is the last time that you can
say that you went out of your way, your set path in the course of a day
to make a stranger feel seen, forsaken active listening in public, or
laughed too loud in a restaurant only to turn and explain your joy to the
booth next to you so that they can laugh in turn? Step out of your life.
Sometimes the discomfort brings a euphoric charge to you.
Rise above what is expected of you, what you expect of yourself, what you know
you will be doing or consuming when you wake.
I don't want a global revolution, I just want you to be a person instead of an idea living in fear.
