10 July 2020 - setting sun sparkles through tree cover. Rays reflect back from a mirrored building, light falling in unexpected places. Wisdom whispers:
Listen, for I am about to tell you of unparalleled excellence and beauty;
what I am about to say will set things right.
7 I will only speak the truth;
I despise evil, so it will not pass through my lips.
8 Everything I say promotes justice;
not one word is crooked, and nothing is distorted.
9 Each and every word is straight talk to perceptive people,
upright and honest to knowledge-seekers.
10 Accept my correction as being more valuable than your prized possession,
authentic knowledge more valuable than pure gold.
11 You see, no gem is more precious than Lady Wisdom—
your most extravagant desire doesn’t come close to her.
Good counsel is mine, and also true wisdom.
I am understanding, and strength belongs to me.
love those who love me;
those who search hard for me will find me.
18 Riches and honor are the benefit of following me;
so are lasting wealth and justice.
19 My reward is better than gold, even the purest gold;
and my profit is greater than the highest quality silver.
20 I follow the way of right living.
Follow me along the path to find justice;
21 I’m ready to meet those who love me, bestow true riches upon them,
and fill up their lives until their treasuries overflow.
A LEOPARD CANNOT CHANGE ITS SPOTS.
This proverb speaks a simple and merciless truth: sooner or later, a person’s nature shows.
Masks can change. Roles can be played. People can pretend for a while, and even convince others — but what someone truly is cannot be erased.
The “spots” are not decoration: they are the deep structure of character, instinct, and intention.
It is a proverb about human truth: certain patterns always return, like a signature.
Those who are loyal tend to remain loyal.
Those who are false eventually fall back into falsehood.
Those who harm often find a way to harm again — even after presenting themselves as “changed”.
This does not mean nobody can improve.
It means real change is not a statement: it is long, serious work — and it is rare.
And when that work is not real, reality resurfaces.
Like the leopard’s spots.
I create and publish these proverbs through digital images made with Artificial Intelligence not because AI can replace photography or “pure” art, but because I want to use a new medium as an expressive tool.
I do not become a servant of the machine: I use it.
I bend it to my own language to build symbols, to break patterns, and to remind that the truth about human beings — for better or worse — always leaves a mark.
Start children off on the way they should go,
and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
Proverbs 8:12 “I am Wisdom—Common Sense is my closest friend; I possess knowledge and sound judgment.”
Proverbs 20:30 “The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly.”
Who knew that this Piping Plover was not only an expert at finding beach worms but also an expert at shaming proverbs. It’s late in the evening and the sun is minutes from setting. The early bird has long since given way to the tired bird, ready to retreat to an evening’s rest. Yet, despite the proverb, it is clear that the “early bird” isn’t the only one who gets the worm! Perhaps it is better to believe that persistence is the best road to success and that being prepared and well informed helps one decide where it’s best to search for the worms! #PipingPlovers

this was an accident
I count him braver who overcomes his desires
than him who conquers his enemies,
for the hardest victory is over self
First wall of a new project I'm working on playing with chinese proverbes known as Cheng Yu which are a combination of 4 characters that together form a idiom.
This one is "nine cows one hair" which means small, insignificant, a useless unfightable cause ... I painted this in one of the old historical neighborhoods of shanghai that are getting bulldozed to make way for modern highrises and department stores, displacing the current population and the people that had been living there for years in order to cater to the rich.
