Spring is nature's way of saying, 'Let's Party!"
~ Robin Williams
This is the last in my series of four crocus images.
Shot with Pentacon AV and 12mm extension tube.
I have often asked myself weather sunsets have brothers or sisters, and knowing that sunrise is actually Sunset's brother, I, for my entire life searched for it's sisters.
And than it happened the other day. Climbing a small grassy hill in the most beloved part of the world, my Homeland, I came about what I was searching for. Sunset sisters were there talking to the Sun in a way lovers talk to each other.
Now I have to find out about who is it's Mother...b.mikic
My one minute poetry/prose continues...

Pale amber sunlight falls across
The reddening October trees,
That hardly sway before a breeze
As soft as summer: summer's loss
Seems little, dear! on days like these.
Let misty autumn be our part!
The twilight of the year is sweet:
Where shadow and the darkness meet
Our love, a twilight of the heart
Eludes a little time's deceit.
Are we not better and at home
In dreamful Autumn, we who deem
No harvest joy is worth a dream?
A little while and night shall come,
A little while, then, let us dream.
Beyond the pearled horizons lie
Winter and night: awaiting these
We garner this poor hour of ease,
Until love turn from us and die
Beneath the drear November trees.”

Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.

It emerged from the silence between sleep and wakefulness,
a creature made of shadow and longing.
It has magical powers and now it stands at your door,
knocking with fingers of mist and stars.
Don't open it!
It feeds on welcome.
It wears your name like a borrowed coat.
Let it wait in the cold, it's magic isn't going to work.
Let it wonder why you no longer dream.
Happy Shocktober!! 👻🎃

On/Off - Thank you very much for your visit and taking the time to comment or fave! Much appreciated!
Despite being a heaving metropolis, London does have many oases of calm such as parks but also it has woodland and at this time of year that means bluebells a-go-go.

It's the first day of the month, and this is a first of a new series. Hopefully I can upload some more in the future...
Good Morning!
Water Cascading Down Stream
I sit upon a waterfall
My fur spotted with grass and bramble
Where are the fish?
Where are the salmon?
I will sit some more and maybe walk around
The older one in the corner stares blankly at the water
I think he's also asking about the salmon
I'm hungry!
So goes on the day at Brooks Falls.
Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one afternoon in while at the Falls Platform watching the brown bears and their quest for salmon in Katmai National Park & Preserve. A friend and I spent many an hour watching these bears move about, some seemingly standing for a long time as they waited or put their heads in the water looking for salmon to eat. These platforms for watching the bears are truly one of the best spots to observe one small part of the wildness of nature in this national park :-) My poem was kind of from the point of view of this one bear as it just continued to sit, and sometimes move about waiting for salmon to make that six foot jump over the falls.
I captured this with my Nikon D800E SLR camera using a Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 lens.
Some Have an Arrogant Loneliness
Caught up in whatever ailment or emotions strikes
All they have to do is look around
For the trees and mountains are friends
And provide entertainment and comfort for the lonely.
Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one late afternoon in Denali National Park & Preserve while enjoying sights on the bus ride out to North Face Lodge. With this image, I pulled back on the focal length to capture more of the grandeur present as I looked across this glacial valley and then to some distance ridgelines and snow packed mountains. While I was on a bus at a few second stop, my thinking with this image was to let the viewer of this image seemingly stand in wide eye amazement; hence pulling back on the focal length.
I did some initial post-processing work making adjustments to contrast, brightness and saturation while playing around as I learned how to work with DxO PhotoLab 3 that I’d recently purchased after moving away from Capture NX2. I finally cropped a portion of the hazy skies above as I felt the negative space didn’t add to the image and it also added to a more panoramic setting.

I'm a sucker for wildflowers; more so when they're truly wild in a field. I love them, they brighten any spot, even the side of a road that's riddled with potholes.
And so, this morning when I was walking back from an appointment and spotted this field of wild growth I had to pull the camera out and see what I could capture.
No field is ever the same. If I were to go back tomorrow, it would be different and I think that's what I love about places like this.
Variety, it's the spice of life!
Hope everyone has had a good day.

Be My Love in the Rain
My wonder in the sunlight
My silence in a world screaming aloud
My conscience when others run amok
My sanity in the madness.
Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one morning in Black Canyon of The Gunnison National Park while walking the Rim Rock Trail. This had been the first point I’d stopped the day prior upon entering this national park at Tomichi Point. To say that it was amazing, might be a little bit of an understatement! So I was walking along the Rim Rock Trail from the visitor center to this point and took a few minutes to once again soak in the view. I decided to angle my Nikon SLR camera slightly downward and capture more of the sweeping view looking down into the canyon and then across to a far distant horizon. I also felt that minimizing the negative space of the blue skies above would also help in the composition of this vista-like view. Nearby would be in focus, while the sunlight and haze would create more of a "dreamy like" look to the more distant portions of this national park setting and canyon.
I later worked with control points in DxO PhotoLab 3 and then made some adjustments to bring out the contrast, saturation and brightness I wanted for the final image.

I Planned My Getaway to Some Far Off Places
And found myself here
I guess I really didn't need to go to far
Nature has been waiting with open arms
for my entrance...and yours :-)
Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one late mooning while standing at the dock area of Wonder Lake in Denali National Park & Preserve. My thinking with this image was to use some nearby canoes, focusing on that but having a closed down aperture for the complete setting. Yes, the eyes would be drawn initially to the canoes on the dock. The grassy meadow swaying in the breeze near the waters of Wonder Lake would be next. Denali would then rise above all as the “Great One” to complete the setting in this part of the national park. I did some initial post-processing work making adjustments to contrast, brightness and saturation while playing around as I learned how to work with DxO PhotoLab 3 that I’d recently purchased after moving away from Capture NX2.
