Het gebied, wordt ontwikkeld voor wonen, werken en cultuur en kent diverse Rijksmonumenten, onder andere Philitefabriek met Klokgebouw, het Veemgebouw en de reeks gebouwen bekend als De Hoge (Witte) Rug.
Strijp-S, former Philips area, was not accessible to the public, 'the forbidden city'. The area, with several national monuments, is designated for living, working and culture.
