The medieval style manor that you see today is not as old as it seems. Before the Messel family lived here, Nymans was a plain Regency style house, probably built around 1839 by a man named George Harrington.
In February 1947, the house at Nymans was damaged in a catastrophic fire. A priceless horticultural library was lost forever and the Messel family were forced to move from their family home, leaving behind a partially burnt out shell.
Although much of the house was lost to the fire in the winter of 1947, surviving rooms include the Garden Hall, Dining Room, Book Room and Library.

Drove down to the Historic Carl Sandberg Property on Saturday morning and walked around Side Lake. It was gently raining and the colors were amazing. The Carl Sandburg National Historic Site is located near Hendersonville in the village of Flat Rock, North Carolina, and was the home of Pulitzer Prize-winning poet and writer Carl Sandburg. The 264-acre site includes the Sandburg residence, the goat farm, rolling pastures, mountainside woods, 5 miles of hiking trails and two small lakes.
Property of the Crown, then royal residence, Chenonceau Castle is an exceptional site not only because of its original design, the richness of its collections, its furniture and its decorations, but also because of its destiny, since it was loved, administrated and protected by women, who were all extraordinary and who, for the most part have marked history.
For the historical background, the “Château des Dames” was built in 1513 by Katherine Briçonnet, and successively embellished by Diane de Poitiers then Catherine de Medici. Chenonceau was protected from the hardship of the revolution by Madame Dupin.
The iron, but very feminine, fist in the velvet glove has always preserved Chenonceau during times of conflict and war in order to make it forever a place of peace.
Chenonceau Castle has an exceptional museum collection of the Old Masters’ paintings: Murillo, Le Tintoret, Nicolas Poussin, Le Corrège, Rubens, Le Primatice, Van Loo... as well as an extremely rare selection of Flanders Tapestries from the 16th century.
Throughout its history, this emblematic Castle has always attracted talent and inspired great artists. Conveying beauty and combining the elegance of architecture with that of the spirit is also sharing an elegant way of life.
At Chenonceau Castle, the flower display in every sumptuously furnished room adds to its elegance. The room of Five Queens, the living room of Louis XIV, the grand gallery overlooking the River Cher, fabulous kitchens constructed in the piers of the bridge, the Green Cabinet of Catherine de Medici...Step by step, Chenonceau takes you back in time to share its dreams and reveal its secrets.
Completed in 1904, Nos 758 - 766 Queen St E in the Riverside neighbourhood of Toronto Canada are used for both commercial and residential. The row of buildings were listed as a Heritage Property by The City of Toronto in 1975.

However, the bike is not hers, but a ‘’shared bike‘’,which is from the Bike-sharing business. She uses it to transport her belongings, angrily hostile to his surrounding and scursing angrily into the air. No one knows exactly what she had encountered.
She doesn't look like a rascal does she? Just uploading a few shots of my brother's cats from our visit in Mariposa, CA in July, taken on an early morning walk around their property, keeping my eyes and ears open wide since this kitty apparently brought a baby rattlesnake home one day...
I loved the early morning light in the trees....i should get up early all the time ...
The farmhouse of Dimas / Vilanova i la Geltrú (Catalonia)
The farmhouse of Dimas is a center located to the right of the road of
Cubelles, near the Aragai and the school of the Franciscans.
Currently the constructions of the windmill district
they surround it. It was built in the 1880s as a second
home. Despite its name as a farmhouse, it has not had
agricultural dependencies. Since 1983, the land of property
they are classified as developable land.
Dimas Ynglada y Moragas (1828-1884) was the son of José Ynglada and
Marqués, who had built his family home in Vilanova, in
street of Sant Gervasi, in 1778, popularly known as Can
Dimas, to reside more time his son Dimas. Ynglada Dimas and
Moragas followed the military career, which he abandoned when he married
with Lucía Puig y Solà, heiress of numerous properties. Dimas
start the construction of the farmhouse of Dimas, but died the year
1884, before being finished; his wife, Lucia Puig, the
Finalize. In 1989, interior renovations were carried out.
I've only been down to the edge of Crater Lake once, but it was an unforgettable experience. This was taken with my Zero Image 2000 pinhole camera, a couple of years ago. I've forgotten the exactly month and year... these memories of Oregon are becoming so plentiful that they tend to run together.
At long last, made it to this infamous location on the NC500 route with that red roof - simply a matter of driving around the road far enough, something I've never done before. I would like to think that the owner of this property is having a bit of a laugh at all the tourists wanting its photograph and he has attached a ladder to the roof!

Little Moreton Hall, also known as Old Moreton Hall, is a moated half-timbered manor house in Cheshire, England.[The earliest parts of the house were built for the prosperous Cheshire landowner William Moreton in about 1504–08, and the remainder was constructed in stages by successive generations of the family until about 1610. The building is highly irregular, with three asymmetrical ranges forming a small, rectangular cobbled courtyard. A National Trust guidebook describes Little Moreton Hall as being "lifted straight from a fairy story, a gingerbread house".] The house's top-heavy appearance, "like a stranded Noah's Ark", is due to the Long Gallery that runs the length of the south range's upper floor.
The house remained in the possession of the Moreton family for almost 450 years, until ownership was transferred to the National Trust in 1938. Little Moreton Hall and its sandstone bridge across the moat are recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and the ground on which Little Moreton Hall stands is protected as a Scheduled Monument.] The house has been fully restored and is open to the public .
At its greatest extent, in the mid-16th century, the Little Moreton Hall estate occupied an area of 1,360 acres (550 ha) and contained a cornmill, orchards, gardens, and an iron bloomery with water-powered hammers. The gardens lay abandoned until their 20th-century re-creation. As there were no surviving records of the layout of the original knot garden it was replanted according to a pattern published in the 17th century.

My cousin has some Matilija poppies growing on his property so I documented the one that I could get closest to.
Lighting stuff: Lit with one manual Yongnuo flash in an 8.6 inch Lastolite soft box, hand held at 10 o'clock above the flower. The flash and my tripod mounted camera were triggered with a Yongnuo RF-603N.

It's a bit drafty and the mosquitoes are bad during the summer but the view is breathtaking. There were many interesting things to photograph on this property just North of Elk Island National Park.

Long-tailed Macaque (Macaca fascicularis), is also known as the crab-eating Macaque.
When we came across this macaque, she already had the orange peel. Probably discarded by someone treking the trail. Even though it was only the peel, she became overly possesive about keeping it. She was quite worried that I would steal it from her. She still was carrying it around 30 minutes later.
