The Circle Drive South Project opened as of July 31, 2013. Now, just east of Circle Drive, a new intersection exists: 11th Street West and Dawes Avenue... and it's getting traffic signals. In my opinion, traffic signals would make more sense at 11th Street West and Avenue W South. I took this picture as I was heading east on 11th Street West so I can head south on Circle Drive, which meant driving past at least one more set of traffic signals to access the on-ramp.
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks is a non-fiction book where Rebecca Skloot recounts what she learned about an African American woman named Henrietta Lacks. Henrietta Lacks had cervical cancer, and her cells became the first immortal cell line (her cells are still found in laboratories all over the world today). Her cell line is known as "HeLa", and her cells helped people make numerous medical & scientific discoveries.
For my first concept, I made the H in "Henrietta" out of scientific test tubes on a rack. For the title, I made "HeLa" stand out in Henrietta's name by making those letters capitalized.
For my second concept, I drew the title a little differently but still wanted the "HeLa" to stand out (made them different colors). For the H in the middle, I drew cells on the left of the H (because the story is largely focused on Henrietta's cells), and a red nail polish bottle on the right (because there is a significant part in the story where Henrietta is said to have always worn red nail polish). Then, I drew DNA going through the H.

Another fascinating person in Noumea, I spied this man sitting in the shade of some trees near the Noumea markets. I approached him and asked him for a photograph. He was extremely keen and gave me a big smile. I asked him what he and his somewhat surly companion (soon to be stranger 7!) were doing and how their day was going. He understood very little English so once again learning too much about him was a bit troublesome.
I tried to chat with him a bit more but it was tough going so I shortly got a photograph of his friend and wished them well before heading on my way.

Not to sure about this shot it's a bit cluttery looking but I thought the sun-flare was pretty cool, I loved all the different colours.
Tsu-Na-Ga-Ri (Japanese: relationship), a complex, multi-part project by the Miraikan Museum (JP), fosters a new way of understanding the interrelationships at work within Earth’s ecosystems. The Eden Project is a visitor attraction in Cornwall, England. Inside the two biomes are plants that are collected from many diverse climates and environments. The project is located in a reclaimed Kaolinite pit, located 2 km (1.2 mi) from the town of St Blazey and 5 km (3 mi) from the larger town of St Austell, Cornwall.
The complex is dominated by two huge enclosures consisting of adjoining omes that house thousands of plant species, and each enclosure emulates a natural biome. The biomes consist of hundreds of hexagonal and pentagonal, inflated, plastic cells supported by steel frames. The largest of the two biomes simulates a Rainforest environment and the second, a Mediterranean environment. The attraction also has an outside botanical garden which is home to many plants and wildlife native to Cornwall and the UK in general; it also has many plants that provide an important and interesting backstory, for example, those with a prehistoric heritage.
So, that only leaves the construction of the buildings to complete, a coat of varnish to the vehicles and a degree of aging and road dirt to apply, the contours and landscaping of the yard and inclusion of all the other items that were to be found in a 1960s depot..........................may be finished this time next year ?
Follow me as I take and post a picture a day for the entire year of 2011. My goal for this project is to not only challenge myself with shoots that I've always wanted to try, but to also better myself as a photographer.

“When one door closes another door opens; but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us.” ~Alexander Graham Bell~
Just came across this quote - I like it.
I can’t really think of anything to say today. Five more days and I’m finished with the self-portraits, that’ll be kind of weird but it will be good to focus on something else too. Though I’m sure I’ll post a selfie every now and then, especially with winter coming. I love shots in the snow; the landscape can change so dramatically with a good dump of snow.
Enjoy your weekend!
Couple things about me:
1. I love the wind, especially in fall when the leaves are falling off the trees and are blown all around.
2. My favourite type of chips are regular and preferably Lays. Some onion dip on the side is great too.
