Good Weather is pleased to participate in Atlanta Contemporary’s 'On-Site' program. In a nod to this repeated invitation, the gallery will present two solo exhibitions as a hyphenated compound, working through multiple ruminations on painting, beginning with Hartmut Austen’s 'Blurred Vision is just one of the Symptoms' opening on Wed, Oct 24, 2018 (with a public reception on Thu, Oct 25, 2018) and running through Nov 18, 2018, and continuing with Ron Ewert’s 'I’m getting too old for this shirt' opening on Tue, Nov 20, 2018 (with a public reception on Thu, Nov 29, 2018) and running through Dec 15, 2018. In 'I’m getting to old for this shirt', Ron Ewert envelops the left wall of the gallery with a complex relief ('Garbage In Garbage Out'): a carved surface, teeming with cryptic and obscured layers, that serves as an amplification of the subconscious mind. In this case, the imagery comes from a junk folder of obscure, glaring, and geographically Midwestern references. Black and white paintings imprinted from this apparatus hang along the walls—mirror images of the engraved labyrinth that act as a faulty tool to decode the conflated ancillary headspace. Five pennies, flipped in the air and glued to the spots on the ground where they landed ('Five Cents (Well Intentioned)'), further impress this chanced (heads/tails) and processed outcome of dissociative mimesis.

Ron Ewert
Ron Ewert lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. He received his MFA from the Painting and Drawing Department of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2012. His work has been shown in a number of solo, two-person and group exhibitions, including solo exhibitions at S1 in Portland and Good Weather in Little Rock; group exhibitions at Johannes Vogt, Monya Rowe and Launch F18 in New York, The New York Art Book Fair and LA Art Book Fair, The Green Gallery and American Fantasy Classics in Milwaukee and most recently with Erin Washington at Roots and Culture in Chicago.

Taught by artist and conservator Corey D'Augustine, this daylong workshop included an introductory slide presentation and a gallery tour of John Chamberlain: Choices. In the afternoon, participants experimented with three-dimensional materials and used assemblage, collage, and sculptural techniques of the 1950s and '60s during studio exercises.

Peshawar, 29-10-2013: Al-Khidmat Foundation organized a ceremony on the first year ceremony of its ‘Children Protection Program’. The program was started a year before with the collaboration of APPS(UK) in Peshawar. The purpose of the program is to eliminate child labor and provide a better future to such children.
The ceremony which was held in PC Hotel featured 5 students from the Child Protection Centre. These children were the chief guests of the ceremony. President Al-khidmat Foundation Pakistan Dr. Hafeez Ur Rehman, Provincial Minister for health Mr. Shaukat Ali Yousafzai, Federal Minister for local bodies Mr. Annayut Ullah Khan, President Al-Khidmat Foundation KPK Mr. Noor Ul Haq, Executive Committee Member APPS UK Dr. Altaaf Qadir and 90 children from Child Protection Centre participated in the ceremony.
Dr. Hafeez Ur Rehman while addressing to the ceremony said that Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan is willing to bare the expenses of the education of these children on school, college, and university level. Moreover, he said that Al-Khidmat Foundation is willing to even bare the expenses of the most brilliant students who might like to peruse higher education abroad.
President Al-Khidmat Foundation KPK Mr. Noor Ul Haq and Executive Committee Member APPS UK Dr. Altaaf Qadir explained the details of the project. Later, the children performed skits, poems, and national anthems. Note that education is an important working area for Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan and it has a very proud history of assisting students, especially from poor and deserving backgrounds.
