After concentrating on making several pictures with precise, orderly edges I needed to mess with loose colors again. Painted with Procreate (iPad app).

Went for a walk with my son to Sherbrooke Falls and had to capture the lush landscape.

Why make a Robert Rauschenberg knockoff (with colors & proportions changed)? Because I got a notecard of Rauschenberg's Airport: Cat Paws, 1974 and was really impressed by it. It used to be, when artists wanted to fully appreciate and learn more about an artwork, they would set up an easel in the museum and copy it.

Also, it gave me a chance to experiment with a brush that kind of simulates loose-woven fabric and with combining digital painting & collage.

So to review, my daughter (in law, i don't like to make distinctions unless it clarifies) asked for three paintings, one from each of my sons and i, of baby animals for our impending grandchild's nursery. i love the idea and have been pondering it ever since.
