These are not Washington Metropolitan Police, these are private security officers standing guard outside the International Monetary Fund's headquarters in Washington, D.C. They stood silently at the edge of the sidewalk and a squad of police officers parked not far away stayed within line of sight, but came no closer.
The demonstration was peaceful and small, but vigorous -- and audible from some distance.
I've never before seen private security on bicycles. I guess the gas prices have called for innovation.

On Thursday, 20 June 2019 I attended the Mets v. Cubs game. Leaving Wrigley Field, I took a CTA Red Line train south to head home.
One or two stops after I boarded at Addison, a woman announced “canine entering.” I took little notice as the uniformed woman and a muzzled German shepherd boarded. The dog sat upright on the floor near me, the handler stood.
I took out my iPhone and snapped a few photos of the dog. The handler became irate, and warned me, “you can’t photograph the dog.”
I was taken aback – I know I’m well within my rights to photograph in a public space. I couldn’t see all of her uniform, but I could tell she was not with the Chicago Police. I asked, “are you a police officer?” This seemed to bother her, she came a few steps closer, now within arm’s reach, pointed at my face and said, “you can’t photograph the dog – he’s a working dog.”
I repeated by question, she again tried to avoid answering. When I asked, “do you have a card?” She pointed at her badge and said, “I’m with AGB Security, here’s my badge, and you can’t photograph the dog.”
I replied that I was well within my rights to photograph a public space. I asked if she was allowed to have an animal that wasn’t a service animal with her on the train. She did not reply. Soon, I was at my stop and disembarked from the train.

Guardsman is a leading private security firm in Jamaica. There is some diversity in their fleet (the bulk of which consists of midsized pickups like this), though the D-Max is probably not dominant. The company seems to have favored the L200 more lately.

Minneapolis Police and private security cleared the lot at the former Wince Marie Memorial Garden on July 17, 2021, and erected fencing. This action followed a protest related to Winston Smith, whose death in June 2021 sparked demonstrations in the city. The site had been occupied by activists who established a "guerrilla garden" in memory of Smith.
