A view of an old and worn building located on 2nd St. in Henry's business district. Completed in 1895, it still has a certain appeal and would be great to see restored. A print shop once operated at this location.

Henry is a city in Marshall County, Illinois. The population of Henry was 2,320 at the 2020 census. The city is considered part of the Peoria Metropolitan Statistical Area. Its slogan, "Best Town in Illinois by a Dam Site," is derived from the city's distinction of having the first lock and dam built on the Illinois River.

Weather report was unspectacular and cloudless, but it was because of the fog that appeared between the mountain range and the single building.

As I always say, when you're there, just go outside when it's not raining .. 😉

here is a Youtube Video of this Trip! ;-)

Vanuatu consists of 83 islands and has much to offer; active volcanoes, tropical beaches, dense rainforests, a very rich culture and amazingly friendly people. Of the several islands I visited, the island of Tanna has undoubtedly made the biggest impression on me. The whole island is covered with black volcanic ash deposited by Mount Yasur, an active volcano that has been erupting almost continuously for more than 800 years.

My accommodation on the island consists of a treehouse not far from Mount Yasur. The treehouse is hidden in thick forest, just high enough to be able to see the volcano through the foliage. I can hear its rumbling all day, and from my bed at night, I can see it shooting red burning lava high into the air.

The view on the other hand is almost equally impressive. Several times there appears a rainbow above the with rainforest covered hills. Together with the dull rumbling of the volcano, the swallows flying around, the deep black soil covered with large tree ferns and the chickens scratching around the forest floor this makes for a special, almost prehistoric feel.

The San Diego Union Printing Office found in the Old Town San Diego State Historical Park in the City of San Diego in the San Diego County in the State of California U.S.A

This prefabricated wood-frame structure probably arrived from the East Coast by ship in 1851. The building was reassembled in Old Town San Diego. In 1868, this building was used by Colonel William Jefferson "Jeff" Gatewood, Edward Ned Bushyhead and José Narciso Briseño to start The San Diego Union newspaper. The first edition was printed in October and they printed the Union in this building until 1870 when they moved to New Town which is now called Downtown San Diego. The newspaper managed to survive and is still printed today, more than 150 years later, though it is now called The San Diego Union-Tribune.

In 1967, James S. Copley, the publisher of The San Diego Union-Tribune, had the building restored to look as it did in 1868 when the first edition of the newspaper came off the press. The interior represents a newsroom layout and editor's office. The Washington Hand Press in the museum is the same type of model press that printed the first edition of the San Diego Union in 1868.
