These are some printers in the Academic Center

Could not see any wires connecting it to a computer so I guess it can be described as wireless.

Latest commission. A Fujifilm C3530 printer MOC made for their recent NZ product launch. The last release in this particular range, “the final piece of the puzzle” was the tagline. 50% scale.

Would have made the lid open and using SNOT techniques given more time, but that’s always the kicker, isn’t it? More time!

My newest design from my 3D printer

This is the printer that those framed prints came off of. HP Color Laser Jet 4500 N. It does a nice job.

Assembling and testing the Prusa i3 Mk2

We bought this printer's tray about 5 years ago from an antique shop in St. Jacobs, Ontario and have gradually been filling it with little bits of things that we find or have had stashed away. Some on them are old, some are new, and most have a story behind it.

SCERA Park, Utah County, Utah.

A closeup on an IKEA 'rack' in my 'den', which holds our network printer, scanner, network server ('ayeka') and some hanging files.

The printer ('azaka') is an HP LaserJet 4100TN network laser, which we can print to from anywhere else on our home LAN. I bought this from my office when they were engaged in a bout of new printer-buying in late 2005, and were selling off the older machines. The printer cost me somewhat less than a new toner cartridge for it, though thankfully at time of writing I haven't had to replace one yet.

The scanner is a Canon LiDE 35 USB model - currently connected directly to 'tenchi' (my main desktop PC), though one day I want to try linking it to 'ayeka' running a SANE scanner server, so we could scan from any other PC on the network. That's not exactly high on the list, though.

Kouts Tornado

Remark: On May 26, 1917, northern Illinois and Indiana experienced a significant weather event spawning a tornado that caused significant destruction. The storm system spawning the tornado began at 3:10 pm in Mendota, Illinois, and traveled at a rate of approximately 40 miles per hour. The storm headed in a primarily easterly direction with a very slight southern tilt, traveling just north of Elwood, Illinois, then between Crown Point and Cedar Lake, Indiana, through Hebron, and then ending in Kouts at 5:56 pm.

Intense darkness was reported by those directly in the path of the storm. In Illinois, hail stones from the storm system were measured to be the size of hen's eggs, while in Porter County hail stones measuring six to ten inches in circumference and one-half pound in weight were reported to have fallen thickly in the area. Property loss in Porter County alone was estimated to $500,000 (approximately $8.4 million in 2008 dollars).

In Porter County, the mile wide tornado killed two individuals, D. B. Resh, an old farmer, and fifteen year old Julia Lane. Numerous livestock were also killed, twelve family dwellings were destroyed, and significant timber and orchards in the path of the twister were heavily damaged or destroyed. The Porter County Red Cross, which was founded just one month before this tornado (April 26, 1917), raised $2,000, while the American Red Cross appropriated $3,000 to Porter County for contingency relief. These funds were used to assist forty families in Porter County.

Remark: Strongbow Inn -- Dining Room featuring our Continental menu and our traditional Turkey specialties since 1940. Located at 2405 U.S. 30 East (1/4 mile east of Valparaiso University Chapel). Valparaiso, Indiana 46383. The Strongbow Turkey Inn began operation in 1937 when Dr. Walter Thrun and his wife, Bess, moved to the Alanson Finney farm. The Thruns began breeding turkeys, which were obtained from Texas, in 1938. Bess Thrun became well known for the roses planted around the farm and restaurant. In 1986, the restaurant underwent significant changes as the kitchen was modernized and building expanded to accommodate as many as 250 patrons.

The man in the gray suit has been identified as R. P. Koenig, while the server is believed to be Fred Bauer.

We stumbled across this amazing shop by accident. Two 3D printers in the window!

Well, it took about four months from design to purchasing the wood to preparing the wood, cutting the wood, and staining, assembling, and varnishing it. I originally wanted to do this all with dowel pegs, but as time went on, it was necessary to get the 2-inch (6 cm) screws and do it that way.

This is my printer stand that will allow me to fit a four-drawer caddy in the larger section, allow my paper cutter to slide in on the bottom right-hand side, and store a ream of paper in the upper portion. The 'holes' are for gripping to lift and carry this without using handle appliances.
