I don't know why but I love how this photo came out. It's probably not what my clients were looking for, but I just love the power and emotion that is in this picture. Also how vintage it looks.

This June 28th marks the 50th Anniversary of Stonewall, when our queer elders stood up for themselves and began to move history forward and set forth actions that would lead to what then was probably unimaginable. While most think of this day as the beginning of everything for the LGBTQ rights movement, in truth there are hundreds if not thousands of unsung heros that were fighting the same fight in many parts of the world.
The majority will probably never get the recognition they deserve. It’s to them and everyone who has stood up for themselves or others in the face of adversity, (be it for race, gender, identity, sexual orientation, age, religious belief, or any other part of you that is your identity) I commend and thank you.

June is LGBTQ Pride month, celebrated globally to commemorate the first Pride parade in New York City in 1970. Gay activists organized the parade to remember the Stonewall Riots that occurred the year before. Since then, the queer and trans rights movement has evolved into a cultural and political force that advocates for equality for all people. Today, the LGBTQ community and its allies celebrate Pride by organizing various events, including family-centered picnics, marches through city centers, and nightclub parties.

International name: SOMFIFTY. Hybrid Tea Rose. Bred by Rob Somerfield. Named for the 50th anniversary of the New Zealand Rose Society Rose Trials in Palmerston North, the golden yellow blooms have an orange flush to the petals. Excellent for picking.

The coast of California is truly a treasure. If you haven't taken a stretch of Highway 1, I would highly recommend it. I insisted on stopping at Julia Pfeiffer Burns state park to see this idyllic waterfall. We didn't stay for sunset because we wanted to get to our hotel before dark.
About McWay Falls: McWay Falls is an 80 foot waterfall located in Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park that flows year-round. Like Alamere Falls, this waterfall is one of only two in the region that are close enough to the ocean to be referred to as "tidefalls". It is located on McWay Creek.
Although it can be viewed via a trail from above, the beach and scenic cove below is difficult to access by land, however, it could be easily reached by boat. Even with this possibility, it is not recommended that people visit the beach as a safety precaution due to crumbling cliffs and environmental reasons.

Chase loves this place I take her to run.
It's been a slow winter for the Contracting business... something I've been doing for more than 25 years. This shot was taken yesterday... a day ending many, many without work. Today I start a job that will take me well into late Spring and possibly longer. I'll be putting the finishing touches on a newly constructed 7k sq. ft. Carriage House. Yes.. 7,000 !! Imagine a cute Carriage House with all the glorious trim work they adorn, only the size of a small castle with it's 3 staircases, 4 fireplaces, 5 bedrooms and separate guest quarters complete with it's own kitchen. It even has a matching barn on the property.
Pride.. my own as well as Chase's. I'm proud to be the one chosen to do this work out of many carpenters/contractors screened. I'm also honored and grateful. Chase's pride speaks for itself.
