I still need to fish the power up the DS blade (it's drilled, but I foolishly didn't prewire it when I built the fork last year) and take apart the rear end so I can (a) repaint where I took off the finish to braze on a second pump peg and (b) torch off the pusher boss so I can reposition it properly and use a brifter to shift instead of using the rivendell-approved shift-with-stick method.

I also updated the decals. It's less than 50% 820 these days, so the primary frame decal is going to be mine (and I'll get some mini-820 decal to stick onto the seat tube.)

My Dad has always supervised the maintenance on this car and he knows how to keep things nice and running for years. He still has his 1966 Buick LeSabre convertible in original condition if that tells you anything. So this 1995 Audi A6 is in excellent mechanical condition inside and out.

In response to the university’s desire for its new residence halls to foster a greater sense of community, the design team developed a plan that provides a variety of social and interaction spaces, such as an extended-hours cafe, without significantly adding to the program. The spaces for vertical and horizontal circulation modulate in size, thus allowing for the placement of seating alcoves and other meeting zones. The ground floor of Morris Hall includes a student lounge with a fireplace that opens to the shared exterior terrace, enhancing social and communal opportunities.

As part of a major expansion program, Saint Xavier University commissioned the architect to design two new residence halls that flank a shared outdoor terrace. In addition to a shared design vocabulary, Morris Hall and McCarthy Hall share common suite arrangements. Each suite contains a shared living room and kitchenette, and two double bedrooms.

Each bedroom includes its own bathroom and walk-in-closet. The suites are prewired with high-speed access to the university’s main network.

In response to the university’s desire for its new residence halls to foster a greater sense of community, the design team developed a plan that provides a variety of social and interaction spaces, such as an extended-hours cafe, without significantly adding to the program. The spaces for vertical and horizontal circulation modulate in size, thus allowing for the placement of seating alcoves and other meeting zones. The ground floor of Morris Hall includes a student lounge with a fireplace that opens to the shared exterior terrace, enhancing social and communal opportunities.

Saint Xavier University (or SXU) is a private Roman Catholic university in Chicago, Illinois. Founded in 1846 by the Sisters of Mercy, the university enrolls 3,749 students.

History

Saint Xavier University was founded as a women's college by the Sisters of Mercy in 1846 at the request of Bishop William Quarter. With the City of Chicago less than 10 years old, the religious sisters, under the guidance of Mother Mary Francis Xavier Warde, R.S.M., established Saint Francis Xavier Female Academy. The Academy, which would later become Saint Xavier College, and finally Saint Xavier University, was the first Mercy College in the world and is the oldest chartered college in the city of Chicago.

Gotta be able to carry the thing anywhere including attic and roof for antenna positioning, without snaging cords or damaging the TV, and receive in locations like garage and yard where there is no prewired antenna outlet.

The Best Buy Insignia NS19D220NA16-A 19 inch LCD TV is handy as a portable TV when an inexpensive drawer pull made into carrying handle is added to the rear VESA mount M4 holes with a made from scrap angle plate. Otherwise there is too much chance to touch screen, put pressure and cause screen issues when carrying and setting up. The F antenna input connector is inconveniently oriented but adding a securely tightened F right angle adapter solves this issue. Power cord wraps nicely around the TV feet when carrying.

I have a 40 inch Samsung 630 LCD TV (190 W, 2010) to compare against the Insignia (18W, 2016) and the Insignia definitely has more sensitivity. Using an ancient log periodic attic antenna, or the newer attic Clearstream 4V (four wideband loops with reflector screen and helper VHF dipole) both TVs are comparable for the channels I watch.

But when near ground level antennas are tried inside the house and garage, the apparently lower noise figure tuner of the Insignia begins to show advantage over the older Samsung. I tried the 4V at ground level and it works but is heavy and bulky.

Some vintage style rabbit ears and wire frame UHF bowtie were tried and don't receive enough broadcast channels at my location. So an inexpensive foil and foamcore planar bowtie antenna and reflector were assembled to fit with foamcore standoff spacers inside the original TV shipping box, which then sits handily on window sills and flat surfaces anywhere in the house or garage. There are many higher gain DIY designs on the Internet but most of them have more complexity and sharp protrusions than I want.

Dollar Tree Store 30x20 inch foamcore is enough for both the antenna and the reflector substrates. The antenna bow tie foil conductors are defined by the diagonals of a 15x10.5 inch rectangle. High up in the box is better, to get the antenna above the metal if any in window frames. Symmetrical feed is at the center (.5 inch between centers) with a 300 ohm to 75 ohm matching transformer.

The design (2 to 3 dB over a tuned dipole without reflector) is from Jasik, Antenna Applications Reference Guide 1987 Section 6-5. This design is for 450 to 700+ MHz, but it also happens to receive wanted VHF signals at 174 and 204 MHz that are strong enough.

The 19x12 inch reflector sheet, stood off about 4 inches is optional but helps in a few cases. It can boost gain up to 6 dB but of course the beamwith drops, and I like to receive from several directions without repointing.

Without the reflector, and with the box antenna on a window sill pointed north, I receive about 83 channels, and if I slide the box along the same window sill to a different position, two more are receivable but a few others drop out. I'm in southern Sunnyvale about 1.5 miles from the spaceship in Cupertino.

Slip-on F connectors on both ends of a 26 foot length of 75 ohm coax allow quick setups and placing the antenna box, cable and TV where they all need to be to receive well and not constitute a trip hazard.

This is the best investment we have made in our new home.

When we picked out the options for our new house several years ago, I am glad we got this place prewired for a security system.

As soon as we moved in a security company was contacted and we were active.

It is worth every penny for the peace of mind we get.

There have been several homes in our development that have been broken into. None of them had security systems.

The sign out front helps too. Police say a lot of people just have signs and no system.
