This photo captures a powerful storm as it rolls through the area, with lightning bolts lighting up the sky. The photo is taken from a distance, providing a wide-angle view of the storm as it moves through the landscape.

Church Square (Afrikaans: Kerkplein), originally Market Square (Dutch: Marktplein) is the square at the historic centre of the city of Pretoria, South Africa.
The founder of Pretoria, Marthinus Pretorius, determined that the square be used as a market place and church yard. It was subsequently named for the church buildings that stood at the centre of the square from 1856 to 1905.
The square's most prominent feature, since June 1954, is however the statue of the late Boer leader and president of the South African Republic, Paul Kruger, at its centre.[2] Statues of four anonymous Boer citizen-soldiers surround that of Kruger on a lower level of the plinth.
And behind every curtain, a drama.
These flats are located in the Pretoria suburb of Sunnyside, which is a bit like Hillbrow in Johannesburg. I took this shot from Hotel 224 in Arcadia, Pretoria, when I was there a few years ago with Joburg Photowalkers and Pretoria Stadstapper Fotoklap.

The fountain was created by the Florentine sculptor Francesco Camilliani in 1554. In 1573, don Luis's financial problems reached such an extent that he decided to sell the fountain. The vice-king of Sicily at that time was the brother of don Lus don GarcÃa de Toledo, and G. de Toledo was the mediator between the quarreling brother, on the one hand, and the Senate of Palermo, on the other. On May 26, 1574, the fountain arrived in Palermo in a disassembled form for 644 details, and then was assembled under the leadership of Camillo Camilliani. Some of the sculptures were beaten, two remained in Florence and are now in the Bargello Museum, something else was taken by don Luis to Naples, so the Pretoria Palermo fountain turned out to be a little poorer than itself, but in a Florentine form.
Cars in the Park is the biggest event of this nature in the country. More than 2500 vintage and classic vehicles built before 1985 are displayed by more than 100 clubs and a number of private individuals at POMC - CARS in the PARK.

The Gautrain is a rapid inter-city train system that connects up some of the key points in the Greater Johannesburg/Gauteng/Tshwane conurbation. It connects the old Johannesburg CBD from Park Station, via Rosebank and Sandton (the 'New City') with Pretoria as well as with the OR Tambo International Airport. It's super-comfortable, super-fast and super-clean: it operates to behavior standards associated with Singapore! A 'must ride' for visitors to Gauteng!
