I made a trip to Berkeley a few days ago especially to track this one down after I heard there was a CX25 parked not too far from the University of California campus. It took about 20 minutes of driving side streets to find it. I don't think I've ever seen another in the US.

On the rear of No. 1 on August 5, 2016, are three “Prestige Sleeper class” cars, included the dome-observation “Kootenay Park.” These cars have deluxe accommodations and service, and includes extra large windows in the spacious rooms. The two prestige sleepers ahead of the Park car are the “Chateau Jolliet” and “Chateau Salaberry”
My favourite conditions, a massive temperature inversion due to a switch wot a warm southerly system, great sunrise, lovely golden light and a big storm cloud approaching. The only thing missing was a rainbow... This is a 5 x exposure 2 shot panoramic stitch. The only unpleasant thing was the 3.30am alarm call…

Another vintage frame from Fabulous Fanny's. PRESTIGE is made by Liberty U.S.A. Judging from its condition, it should be NOS (New Old Stock).
When I have a choice, I am trying to avoid black frame if possible. Tortoise is the new black to me. From distance, tortoise frame is dark enough to look like black and up close, the frame provides a layer of color complexity black frame doesn't have. Plus black frame looks dull too fast and sometimes feels a bit too heavy. I found easier to match clothing with tortoise frame. Beside the frame color, the frame is solid.
BOXY design is the reason I bought PRESTIGE. Everything seems so angular. The frame , the temples and the bridge, I rarely see design as BOLD as this pair. The frame is so thick, lines are rigid. I found its design manly.
One of my top 5 favorite frame in my collection.
This is not a picture taken by me. I wish it was but unfortunately, it is not. I suppose the reasons for posting this is, number 1 - It’s a great scene and number 2 - It represents an example (for me anyway), that I am hopefully, finally getting back the many filters that I lost when I had to have my computer re-built and the long arduous task of retrieving and rebuilding the “tons” of data, files, folders and applications that were “supposed” to have been reliably backed up using Apple’s “Time Machine” application………which in my opinion is not worth a damn!
It should be noted that I would gladly provide attribution to the original photographer if I knew who that was. Unfortunately the file metadata does not indicate any source identity.
The Car
Well it’s obvious to classic car enthusiasts this is a Packard but in my efforts to make a positive ID of the car, I came up with these possibles:

I am concentrating my attention on the configuration on the hood vents which seem to be a “Dietrich styling” but then again, I’m not sure. Very possibly one of you Packard aficionados out there can make a positive identification.
