Sunny this day with some showers. A big sea due to an East Coast low pressure system. This area a little more protected but still some surfers enjoying the big waves. One young surfer told me he had been there for four hours. Pambula on the Sapphire Coast NSW.
A wonderful New Year's Eve evening with lots of fun and laughter, albeit via social distancing faceTime, and a brilliant time dancing to Toots and the Maytals with Maura, a perfect way to say goodbye to the strangest of years. So Pressure Drop by Toots and The Maytals is playing on my reggae playlist as I type this, and is a wonderful way to start the New year, dancing before breakfast. Happy new Year to all my wonderful friends. I loved doing this assemblage of driftwood and pebbles, they evolved beautifully. I hope 2021 will bring lots more inspiration for all things. Despite having Christmas on my own I had a fantastic day. An early morning zoom meeting watching my daughter and granddaughters opening presents, followed by the friendship of neighbours, then a fantastic muddy mountain bike ride to the coast, it felt wonderful to get some hard exercise . then another zoom meeting with my daughters, and lots of cooking to show my wonderful Italian friend Maura a traditional British Christmas dinner for our late night FaceTime Christmas special. Finally some dancing to Toots and The Maytals in a kilt :))))) Pressure Drop is by Toots and the Maytals. Sadly Toots Hibbert died to Covid last year, so sad, he was probably the most uplifting person I've ever seen perform at a gig. Pressure drop too after all my cooking exploits, just need to work out how to eat all this food :)))
These rocks have been smashed by waves like this ever since Bass Strait was flooded at the end of the last Ice Age 12,000 years ago. And we worry about miniscule rates of sea level change and tiny increases in temperature.

A lovely evening spent at Cwm Nash, watching the tide drop and the sun set slowly, with beautiful shore platforms all around. We're off to see Toots and the Maytals tonight, which should be great , so it has to be a track of theirs, and Pressure Drop, always gives good photography so that's fine.

A snow flurry falling over Stac Pollaidh from the Beinn an Oin ridge. This was the day I was floundering through deep soft snow. I thought it looked less deep on the ridge , but it wasn't the case. Pressure drop applies to the weather, and my pressure too, and is by Toots and the Maytals

High pressure in summer is normally associated with a spell of settled good weather. Unless, that is, the high sits out to the east over the North Sea, when it tends to bring in a cold and clammy sea fret (or haar or fog depending where in the UK you live). So no basking in warm sunshine for us for a couple of days, the temperature only making it up to a rather chilly 12-13C!
Taking further advantage of the golf course being fog-bound, I came across this gorgeous wildflower border at the course entrance.

Luckily for me, most of the general public were on the pier itself, so I could take advantage of the open pebbled beach and capture this magnificent structure in all her regal beauty...

The journey into homelessness is rarely a singular event, but rather a complex accumulation of personal and systemic fractures.
