My dad took us to Cirque Du Soleil on my birthday this year. Seeing the smiles and amazed faces of my children; Spending quality time with my parents; Attending an entertaining event. These memories will last longer than any item I could have received.
This holiday season I'll be trying to give experiences instead of presents. As a bonus, this means very little time squished into shopping malls.

In my photo you can see the Christmas presents I got: roses, hyacinths and a vintage Royal Doulton figurine called 'Christmas Parcels'. The snowman is a favourite Christmas decoration I've known since my childhood.

The image presents an impressive "Cosmic Tapestry in Cygnus," capturing a series of nebulae and stellar phenomena in the constellation Cygnus. It includes the Crescent Nebula, Tulip Nebula, WR 134, and the Cygnus X-1 shockwave. This image is a mosaic composed of two tiles, captured with H-alpha and OIII filters for nebulae and R,G,B for stars, and it required a total of 24 hours of integration. The equipment used for the capture includes a Takahashi FSQ85 refractor and a QHY16200 camera.
OIII Filter: 90 frames of 600 seconds at 1x1 binning
Ha Filter: 55 frames of 300 seconds at 1x1 binning
R, G, B Filters: 32 frames of 200 seconds per filter at 2x2 binning
Location: Sierra de Grazalema, Cádiz, Spain
Capture Date: August and September 2024

We celebrated Jasper's 4th birthday today (actual birthday is Tuesday). He knows the words "presents" and "birthday" so he was pretty excited when we told him that it was his birthday and he was getting presents. You could almost hear, see and smell all the excitement synapses firing in his brain. We're big on dog birthdays. A couple of shots of our previous Aussie Syd's birthday in the comments.
