My dad took us to Cirque Du Soleil on my birthday this year. Seeing the smiles and amazed faces of my children; Spending quality time with my parents; Attending an entertaining event. These memories will last longer than any item I could have received.
This holiday season I'll be trying to give experiences instead of presents. As a bonus, this means very little time squished into shopping malls.
A related recent presents conversation with my son...
Sam - "What experience are you going to give me?"
Me - "The privilege of cleaning the upstairs bathroom."
Sam - "I think I'll re-gift that one."
Landisville Railroad's SW900M shoves two empty covered hoppers from Peachey and three Pilot Flying J empty urea tanks out to the NS interchange in Landisville, PA. The railroad's business has seen a steady increase in carloads and customers over the last few months, often running twice a day and sometimes (yet rarely) even on weekends. Usually the AMHR 8651 can be seen picking loads up from NS in the morning between 0800-1000L, and empties are returned around 1400-1600.
The coal and the empty coal went well, the Bernburg handover was also in the box and finally I was glad after a long day that the lights were coming on everywhere. The cold was merciless. In Peißen I wanted to buy a loaf of bread and there she was: Franzi! Hair pinned up, lipstick, big earrings, a turtleneck top without sleeves, and beaming. It was warm in the bakery. Everything clearly, I toke the bread and Franzi with me, for a long walk with her and her sassy dog. But she didn't want to rent a pond with me for sell fishes later. Unfortunately there wasn't any more time. And so I drove off to Halle-Trotha harbor for a completely different kind of appointment.
This picture here shows what came of it. In the whole film strip it is the only shot that is like this. The reach steaker really only parked briefly and made this shot possible. Would Franzi have liked that too? Definitely!

In my photo you can see the Christmas presents I got: roses, hyacinths and a vintage Royal Doulton figurine called 'Christmas Parcels'. The snowman is a favourite Christmas decoration I've known since my childhood.
Wrapping the gifts is usually, for me, a very boring activity. But this Christmas I am enjoying it a lot.

Built in the 17th century, this church marks the transition of an European Mannerist architectonic style to a Portuguese Baroque style, with the great religious ostentation.
This stylistic combination marked since this period of Jesuit expansion, that spread out the Christ word all over the “new worlds”, colonizing and Christianizing many new territories.
The Church presents a latin cross plant, with one only nave, the main chapel quite evidenced from the rest of the architectonic set, profusely decorated with golden carved wood and rich paintings from the 17th and 18th centuries, as well as rich blue and white glazed tiles panels of the 17th century.
