Is Sunday of Divine Mercy
What is Divine Mercy Sunday?
On May 5, 2000, five days after the canonization of St. Faustina, the Vatican decreed that the Second Sunday of Easter would henceforth be known as Divine Mercy Sunday. The Image: Jesus appeared to St. Faustina in a vision, with his right hand raised in a blessing and his left touching his garment above his heart.
You can do this at any Catholic Church.
To receive special graces that our Lord promised for Divine Mercy Sunday, the only condition is to receive Holy Communion worthily on Divine Mercy Sunday (or the Vigil celebration) by making a good Confession beforehand and staying in the state of grace and trusting in His Divine Mercy.
Any plenary indulgence granted by the Church, on the other hand, involves the fulfilment of a number of conditions, including prayer for the Holy Father's intentions, Confession and Holy Eucharist, and the carrying out of the special indulgenced work (in this case: participating in public devotions to the Divine Mercy on Divine Mercy Sunday itself.

Non-Catholics, therefore, may participate in the celebration of Divine Mercy Sunday by making a Spiritual Communion with great trust, since it is by the degree of trust that we receive graces.

I won the big prize last night, so many millions I can't even imagine. Looks like I will be getting some L lenses at long last. I expect I'll be hearing from lots of relatives I never even knewexisted. I'm going to be buying pbase soon, by the way, so prepareyourself for the New Rules -- such as there must be a minimum of fiftycomments on every picture I publish -- and it must be voted as well. You get the drift, I'm sure. Anyway, I'm off to buy a mansion somewhere. (Outside of California, they're known, however quaintly, as 'houses'.) I'll be in touch.
