This is Elizabethtown or E-Town as they refer to it down here in extreme southern Illinois on the Ohio River. Things don’t change much in these quiet, sleepy little southern river towns. The old buildings and old hand painted signage remind you of a much earlier time. Hollywood should come down here with their cameras and do a retake on To Kill A Mockingbird or some other old southern themed novel. The first time you come rolling down the hill and the town itself unfolds before your eyes, be prepared to be stunned by a strange feeling that you’ve been suddenly transported back into the 1930’s or 40’s. I think I actually gasped, the feeling was so great. Your camera will feel hot within your hand as you are suddenly faced with so many photogenic objects at once to consider. No joke! Coca Cola better get down here while the signage is all still intact. I’ve never seen so much in one small place. Plan a trip and be sure to stay in the old Rose Hotel which is one of the oldest buildings in Illinois and has a magnificent view of the beautiful Ohio River. It doesn’t get any better than this. Cheers.
The physical sun is the realm of the higher souls of the more pure and evolutionary in the Cosmos. Your soul has to be very pure and high evolutionally to be able to enter the heavenly realms of the Sun. All the other angelic souls go the Moon realm and planetary realms and the non so evolutionary souls go to the Nether worlds below Earth, to the Patala underworlds or Ades of the ancient Greeks. Below Ades or Patala is Naraka what we call Hell worlds or Tartara in ancient Greek.
The souls that live now in the Sun realm we may call them gods for they are responsible and guardians of the Earth and the planetary worlds. The fate and destiny of the Earth is in their hands and they control its fate.
Now we enter the Solar maximum when we have many explosions of the sun in the form of flares bombarding our Earth and its (magnetic) atmosphere. These flares now have significant power and energy energising the Earth and its inhabitants. The flares that hit the Earth in this period of Solar maximum will have a great spiritual and energetic and purifying effect in all beings now living on Earth. The physical beings now living on Earth even the plants and animals will have to be purified in order to withstand these higher energies coming from the Sun. Not everyone will manage to withstand these purifications waves coming from the sun and many will succumb to them not being able to withstanding its energies for they have not been prepared by God to handle these high elevated energies. Many will suffer from illnesses and various karmas not being able to handle these purifying energies. The purification of the energy of the sun will continue non stop through this year and the next till all that remains on Earth is purified.
Many souls knew this coming and had prepare themselves by purifying their bodies with pure sathwic foods and purifying their minds and heart with godly thoughts and sentiments loving all Gods creations. The Avatar of the Lord also descended on Earth and gathered the lovers of God beside Him the previous decades and gave them the instructions and teachings necessary to purify their souls and bodies to be able to withstand the purification rays coming from the sun this solar maximum.
From this purification that is now happening from the Sun rays and flares all the consciousness on Earth will rise to an unprecedented level heralding the Golden Age of humanity and closing the Kali Yuga of wars and strife and vengeance among the souls now living on Earth.
The Earth and its inhabitants are now entering a new Era of peace and love and truth and justice after this purification ends in the next two years and only those who will withstand this purification happening now will continue to live and inhabit the Earth.
Only deva, that is God like people will walk on the surface of the Earth during this Golden Age of humanity called by the Veda as the Sathya Yuga, the Age of Truth.
So do not be afraid and in panic for the gods living now in the Sun realm know what are they doing and how they will use the flares that are ejected by the sun. They hold the destiny of Earth in their hands trusted by the almighty God fully in unison with Him. At the right time a big flare will emanate from the Sun that will finish the purification process and then Earth and its inhabitants will shine in a new splendour, the splendour of the Golden Age of Truth !

Well, these building may not be the first to catch the eye along Billionaire Row just south of Central Park but I couldn't resist the composition. I thought it interesting to find window A/C units and an old school water tank in real estate that runs way into the millions if not billions. A lot was being prepared for another skyscraper.
Technical Note: The perspective of this image drove me crazy, I couldn't figure out why the bottom of the center-right plane of the building looked a bit off (pulled in) even though the vertical lines are pretty straight. I thought it might have something to do with straightening the perspective or perhaps some lens distortion going on. What I concluded after plenty of study is it's a bit of an optical illusion with the four rows of lower windows having a different horizontal spacing than the top four rows! The result is that they tend to "pull" the image to the right a bit, IMO. Anyway, it was fun trying to figure this out and I was relieved that I didn't have to blame my 24-70. I shot this at 55mm which is a focal length I don't use too often for buildings. That being said, I'll have to run a few field tests next time I'm around tall buildings to confirm my hypothesis.

The Mighty Pico Paraná
I'm from São Paulo, in southeastern Brazil. Pico Paraná, Brazil's 41st tallest mountain, is a 6-hour and 41-minute drive or about 471 kilometers south of where I live.
Having scaled the 3rd to 7th highest mountains in Brazil, I can say that Pico Paraná, the 41st tallest, was by far the most challenging climb I've done so far.
I've scaled numerous mountains, from the snow-capped peaks of Africa to the technical climbs of the Andes, but nothing could have prepared me for the raw, primal challenge of Pico Paraná. Standing at a towering 1,877 meters (6,158 feet), it's the highest point in southern Brazil.
A Night to Remember I began my ascent at 11 PM on a Saturday night, aiming to catch the sunrise at 6:34 AM. Armed with nothing but determination and a headlamp, I plunged into the dense, primordial forest. The initial three hours were a relentless battle against the unforgiving terrain, as I leaped over massive, exposed tree roots and slogged through muddy trails.
A Vertical Dance As I gained altitude, the challenge intensified. The trail transformed into a series of vertical dance floors, where I navigated sheer rock faces using metal rungs and ropes. I climbed one peak after another, each offering breathtaking panoramas but demanding every ounce of my strength.
The Final Push The final ascent was the most grueling. Without a natural water source, I carried a heavy pack, and the lack of sleep was starting to take its toll. Yet, the allure of witnessing the sunrise from the summit kept me going.
Image: A close-up of the climber's hands gripping a rock face, with a backdrop of lush vegetation.
A Celestial Reward Finally, I reached the summit just in time to witness the sunrise. As the first rays of dawn painted the sky in hues of pink and orange, I stood on top of the world, overwhelmed by a sense of accomplishment. The panoramic view was nothing short of spectacular, stretching as far as the eye could see.
The descent was equally demanding, but the euphoria of reaching the summit carried me through. After 18 grueling hours, I finally made it back to the trailhead. Exhausted but elated, I knew I had conquered one of the most challenging climbs of my life.
Key Points About Pico Paraná:
*Highest point in southern Brazil: 1,877 meters (6,158 feet)
*Part of the Ibitiraquire mountain range: Known for its rugged beauty
*Demanding climb: Requires a high level of physical fitness and technical climbing skills
*Multiple summits: Including Pico Paraná, União, and Ibitirati
*Unique ecosystem: Home to a diverse range of flora and fauna
If you're seeking a truly unforgettable adventure, I highly recommend tackling Pico Paraná. Just be prepared for a challenging and rewarding experience.
PS. The photo I shared captures the moment of descending or returning from the peak, bathed in the warm glow of daylight. In contrast, the ascent of Pico Paraná was an adventure undertaken in complete darkness, guided only by the beams of our headlamps. I'll be sharing breathtaking sunrise photos from the summit very soon.
After a short nap my plan was to hike back to the tracks in time for some night photos before calling it a night. Having slept little in the last 24 hours I must not have been thinking clearly because when I arrived to the tracks I realized I forgot the top of my tripod. Seconds later horns from the west could be heard and since I had no ability to use a tripod I fumbled my settings just in time to capture the impending eastbound stack train, albeit at 1/15th of a second. At this point I was too tired to wait for another train so I'll have to be satisfied with this result until work takes me here once again.
