Picked up the new edition of SHIRTLIFTER from the printers and I must say, it looks fantastic. The printing on the new edition is 400% better than the first go around - better paper, and the second color makes the artwork pop much more than the flat grey I used on the first edition. Spent the evening packing up boxes to send to distributors and customers who preordered--only 1800 copies left to go!

Jae Lee's Superman and Wonder Woman
First off sorry to have flooded your Flickr Feed with so many pictures. I cannot believe the amount of detail that went into these particular figures. They are based on the Art by the incomparable Jae Lee, and sculpted beautifully by Jonathan Matthews (who also I believe sculpted the Greg Capullo Designer Series as well). I have never had figures from DC Collectibles that got me so excited since the announcement of Batman The Animated Series.
These figures go so well with the other New 52 especially the other Designer Series by Greg Capullo.
I preordered these on Amazon but when I saw them in person I just knew I had to get them right then and there.

My pre-ordered Ariel and Eric Doll Set, from the Disney Fairytale Designer Collection. It arrived on October 15, 2013, and I was thrilled to see that they are numbered #012 of 6000! It matches the number of the other doll sets in the pre-order, except that Snow White and the Prince is #4508 of 6000. There are some slight scratches on the gold nameplate and on the acrylic cover of the display case, but they are very minor, and don't diminish the look of the set. Ariel's head is posed a bit awkwardly, but I'll see if I can adjust it a bit without undoing any of the shipping restraints. There is also a loose thread hanging from the left sleeve of Ariel's blouse. Otherwise, Ariel and Eric look very beautiful, and in perfect shape. I'm so happy that I have them after failing to get them in the in-store raffle earlier in the day.
I'm not going to debox the dolls in this set, but I am going to take photos of it boxed, with the cover sleeve off, and with the clear acrylic cover off, to show off the dolls as much as possible without actually removing them from their factory restraints.

President Bush arrived in Bangkok's largest slum Thursday morning seven minutes early and in a black armored stretch Cadillac. Protected by a 40-car motorcade, some 200 Thai police officers, the U.S. Secret Service and its rooftop military snipers, the presidential limo parked in a closed-off white tent pitched near the end of a slum street.
A single flap opened onto the grounds of the Rev. Joseph H. Maier's Mercy Centre charity, a perennial slum oasis blooming with hundreds of happy orphans and HIV-infected kids.
"He walked up and said `Howdy' or something like that," recalled the 69-year-old American Catholic priest known in Thailand as Father Joe. "He was very gracious, very pleasant, very, um, how do you say ... `country.' More of a rough diamond than, say, a British diplomat."
British diplomats and Thai royalty have often visited the charity famous for its 30 slum preschools, orphanages, AIDS hospices and the irreverent Father Joe, a native of Longview, Wash., who has lived for 35 years among the poorest of the poor in Bangkok's squalid slums.
Bush and Eric G. John, the U.S. Ambassador to Thailand, toured the Mercy Centre with Father Joe and Mercy's director Usanee Janngeon, a London-trained nurse. Janngeon flew back early from the XVII International AIDS Conference in Mexico City for Bush's visit.
Together they toured Mercy's art and graphics classes, its orphanages and schools, where Bush was entertained by Mercy's award-winning Thai dancers and schoolchildren's songs. In the adult AIDS ward, where emaciated victims lay in adult-sized diapers, Bush waved off the latex gloves and surgical masks that the White House had preordered. Instead, he leaned in unprotected to shake hands and hug Mercy's frail patients.
"That was totally cool," Father Joe said. "I might not agree with all of his politics, but that was way cool."
Afterward, Bush asked Janngeon, "How much does it cost to run this place? How much (money) do you need?"
Janngeon answered $3.4 million each year. "And to be completely honest with you," she continued, "we don't have enough money."
Father Joe said Bush talked to them about the $48 million global AIDS relief package that he'd signed into law one week earlier, then asked, "So how can we help?"
When Janngeon hesitated, Bush jumped in. "This is your chance," he told her. "You better tell me now."
As Father Joe recounted this conversation during a phone interview Thursday evening from Thailand, he groaned. A scrawl on the local TV news had reported that President Bush offered the Mercy Centre, also known as the Human Development Foundation, 114 million Thai baht, the equivalent of $3.4 million.
Later, after Father Joe had corrected the erroneous report, he explained. "President Bush only offered to look into helping us. No money, nothing - nothing - was promised."
In the past the Mercy Centre has received grant money from the U.S. Agency for International Development.
During his 45-minute visit Bush told Father Joe he respected the work of "faith-based" charities, such as Mercy. Father Joe explained that while Mercy's founders, he and Macau-born Sister Maria Chantavarodom, were Christians, Mercy was ecumenical in its faith. Most of its students, patients, staff and its director, Janngeon, are like 95 percent of Thailand's residents. They are Theravada Buddhists.
However, Janngeon politely explained to Bush, she, too, is faith-based.
"I believe in the children. I believe in the power of goodness. I believe in tomorrow."

The tuna sushi is merely acceptable, despite the never ending procession of locals dropping by to pick up a few rolls for lunch. The roll itself was rather loose, and the rice needed more vinegar in the seasoning.
It seems Satsuki have also expanded into Japanese-style sandwiches. Some of the fillings I saw were teriyaki chicken and smoked salmon and avocado in white bread, crusts removed. There was even a preordered party platter of sandwiches in the fridge, waiting to be picked up!

Surprisingly, Australia got some of the Harry Potter dolls! I’m kinda annoyed Ginny and Minerva weren’t here but I’m mainly here for the trio cuz HOLY SHIT the Harry Potter dolls were GRAIL dolls of mine as a child who binged on the series. Sadly the first run of the dolls in 2001-2003 never made it to my area as a kid and I was so embittered and sad.
Ofc these aren’t the same amount of detail, but highly articulated figures with decent likenesses???? I was so incredibly happy.
I’m a bit annoyed I preordered the dolls on Walmart but the refund process is taking up to a month to get while I grabbed these at Big W but whatever, I finally got the dolls 9 year old me had always wanted, especially Ron! Ahhh.
I just received my second Ariel and Eric Doll set, that I ordered online last Wednesday, October 16, 2013. It is #1145 of 6000. It is placed next to my pre-ordered Ariel and Eric Doll Set, #12 of 6000. They are both in their display cases, with the cardboard cover sleeves removed. At first look, my new set looks almost perfect, with a Ariel in a better pose, her eyelashes more even, and the collar neater. It almost seems a shame to debox the dolls, rather leaving them as is, but I need to free them from all the packing material, so they can be posed with other dolls, and when reboxed, be able to be viewed from all angles. Finally! Got the body from HLJ yesterday. I preordered it ages ago. When I was in Japan I saw them and I thought, oh well I preordered already so I might as well wait. And then I waited for 3 months! @_@ HLJ, why are so slowwwwww~
The body feels solid and heavy. Articulation is yes and no. Yes, because it is still jointed. No, because the joints are pretty much confined to turning clockwise or anticlockwise, and for this sitting pose, you don't want to turn the joints in an awkward way, so you are confined to certain pose only.
I almost feel like this Pure Neemo body is Azone's way to compete with Volks' Custom Figure Kit. VCFK is of course more sophisticated in a way, that it requires drilling and sanding. But they are both made of sturdy material (vs. lighter plasticky body), and they are more like "figures" rather than "dolls".
She is wearing Licca clothes. Her bottom seems to be bigger than Licca body, so pulling up the pants is a challenge. Of course, this sitting pose is not helping neither.
Nevertheless, I still think it is a cute body!
I can't believe I lucked out with a numbered Jett Dawson! Mine is #499/1000. I preordered two from Amazon US on release day, and because presales were restricted to the US, I had to resort to using a freight forwarder to ship her to me.
Her box came a little beat up, and most of those gold corner pieces came loose so I had to glue them back on. Because she's numbered, I do want to keep her on display in her box, so it's a little frustrating she came this way. Sadly it's one of the perks of ordering from the US. I'm just grateful nothing is broken, cracked or damp. The deboxed Jett showing here is the other unnumbered one I got.
I also shipped a bunch of other dolls along with Jett, including the De'Vious twins, Barbie Extra deluxe dolls, made to move barbies, Barbie BMR1959 and the 2021 Lunar New Year Barbie. The entire package weighed a whopping 9kg!
Now onto the Jett doll herself. She's gorgeous. I love how edgy and bold she is with her monochromatic black and white graphic sketch style. I appreciate her extra articulation in the chest and ankles, and her buttery smooth and soft rainbow pastel hair is to die for. She also sports a different skin tone from the other girls? She seems to have more pink undertones than the fairest dolls like Ruby and Poppy, and it's so radiant and beautiful. They've also really toned down on the face shimmer and she her face is mostly matte, which is a treat for photos.
So I'm fully aware of all the controversy surrounding this "collector's edition" doll. And on one hand, I do agree that she's somewhat overpriced compared to other Rainbow High dolls such as Avery Styles. However, you're really getting bang for your buck if you compare her with let's say, a limited edition Disney doll. And it's mostly in her second outfit.
It's a runway style burgundy red mermaid dress, fully lined and embroidered. It definitely plays a big part in driving her cost up. And that's unfortunate. Because while I do appreciate the craftsmanship and time that went into this fashion piece, I can't say I'm a fan. I wish they'd put their time and budget on something more cohesive and less restrictive for Jett. I just don't see myself putting this impractical and extravagant dress on any of the current Rainbow High dolls. It will likely just act as a background decor or prop, which is a real pity. There are already several YT videos showing how problematic the dress is to get on and pose in.
Before I sign off, I do have to note that I'm so glad MGA finally released an east asian doll (even though her surname doesn't sound asian at all?) because we asians get so little representation in most doll lines. I hope to see more asian dolls enter the Rainbowverse.
So all in all, while I do adore this doll and she's definitely amongst my top favourites, she is not without issues. I have already ordered two more of her from Amazon (I'm trying to get one with deep red ombre lips like my numbered one which I will not be deboxing). As of now, my absolute favourite Rainbow High doll is Laurel De'vious. She's absolutely breathtaking, and I am so in love with her fiery colours and new face mould. More on that soon!!
I have waited so long to get a hold of the Fuji X100; finally, I got a call from Hunt's Photo in Boston letting me know they had (2) in stock. I preordered one (no deposits) back in December!
My first impression/experience of this camera is very positive—I am very happy with it. What is most impressive about this camera is its ability to expose images at almost any situation. The exposure seems well balanced while keeping great colors and skin tones even at and above ISO 3200.
I read images at f/2 are soft. IMHO, I think the f/2 images are quite sharp and the bokeh is superb. For the first few days of shooting, I only shot with the f/2 setting. Even under the bright sunlight, I turn the "ND filter" to ON and was able to shoot at f/2 without having to put a real filter on. I do plan to get a hood and a few filters, though. Accessories for the X100 are just too hard to get a hold of these days and I am not willing to pay way above the retail for them.
The ergonomics are good, but could be better. It's a tad slippery to hold and there is barely a grip—thought the grip is better than the Leica X1 but not as grippy as the Ricoh GXR or GRDIII. I am using a wrist strap with it. The camera feels very solid, more so than the X1 but feels less solid than Leica M6. I would be afraid to drop it while I wouldn't worry so much dropping an M6.
The OVF is great to have but needs some improvements particularly in its ability to focus correctly at f/2 and f/2.8. I would recommend using the EVF shooting at such large apertures. It was a hit or miss affair getting the right focus when using OVF with f/2 and f/2.8. Focus speed is fast enough though as expected, not as fast as a DSLR; if I remember correctly, I think the SONY NEX 5 was a little quicker at focusing—but I could be wrong as I no longer have the NEX 5 to compare it to.
Battery life is great, I have shot around 300 pics and it still shows full battery.
I LOVE the panoramic mode; the ability to change the direction of panning gives me the option to get more vertical estate.
I am very happy with the image quality; there is absolutely nothing to complain about (so far).
In the next few weeks, I will most likely post a few more pics and jot down my thoughts a long with the photos. But, to sum it up, the X100 has been a pleasure to use.

Photos of my Anna and Elsa juice glasses and glass mugs by Arribas. I purchased them at the Crystal Arts shop on Main Street in Disneyland. They are identical in design and price to the ones available online at DisneyStore.com, except that these have the Disneyland logo rather than the Walt Disney World logo. The 6 oz juice glasses are $8.50 each, and the 10 oz mugs are $12.50 each. The etchings are well done, these drink-ware have thick bases, and are surprising heavy. A negative is that the mugs have a pronounced mold line down the middle of the handles, and all around to the other side. Also, next to some of the other Arribas glass drink-ware on display at the Crystal Arts shop, these items are a little plain. Some of the other glasses have full color artwork, and embedded jewels. But I think they are very pretty, and well worth the price.
Depending on the lighting, the etchings show up as either negative or positive images of Anna and Elsa. When back-lit, the etchings turn dark, and look like normal images of the Frozen sisters. When front-lit, the etchings turn bright, and look like negative images of the characters. In some of these photos, I've placed the glassware in front of images from the lithograph set that come with preordering the Frozen Blu-ray/DVD combo from the Disney Store.

It’s been a while since I last updated any news on the upcoming work, please stay with me ! Unfortunately, I have had some rough time with 2 issues – one of it being the vast amount of time to prepare and ship the previous orders ( as you know of ). This is actually a good thing- it made me think. So, I have better ways of handling orders now, and so you don't have to worry about it ! For my dear fans, there’s lots more good updates to give today!!
The second big thing I had to get through was the creation of my next artwork-the Feline Crusader. It is a real challenge to recreate this sneaky, playful iconic girl . I made more than 7 designs before this one you see. Then it comes the 'innovation' I promised myself - I was going to make a BIG thing , and so I made a BIG cat with her. However, I wouldn't know the real challenge was to print on a CAT. More nightmares came. A durable printing on the minifigure's hands and helmet is almost impossible without very costly procedures. The only way seemed to be changing my design. I thoroughly look through different options and I decided to keep it the way I want - but using better ways to handle it- NOW The gloves will be hand-sprayed in metallic color instead of printed on. It is much more durable this way. The helmets will be sprayed in the right color and printed with the help of special equipment. The Cat will be printed with 5 tailor-made clamps.. finally it is working without further challenges.. well I mean for now.
The minifigure is professionally pad-printed on both sides of the torso. The arms are also printed and the fingers & toes receive a metallic-sprayed color treatment. There will be 2 emotions for use with or without a helmet. The CAT is printed on the face as well as 3 sides of the body A Lego Whip will be in the package too.
I can't say enough thank you to all who patiently waited for the Feline Crusader, and the other characters following. You guys are just awesome to give some much confidence and love to support me with all the preorders- even those I have not announced yet ! There is not much I could do - on top of doing my best. So for all who preordered the Feline Crusaders , I will include the 2 limited weapons from my Dark Knight Nightingale ! As for those who participated in the lucky draw - congratulations ! You all have won the prizes too! I will be contacting you one by one soon.

We were limited to one of each style (unless we had more than 14 preordered dolls).
I’ll be honest, I have a love/hate relationship with Trick or Treat Studios. They make stuff I dreamt about owning my entire childhood, but many of the expensive items I’ve purchased from them have poor paint jobs and the colors literally wipe off when I dust them...they also have THEE worst customer service of any company I have ever encountered. They treat their customers like absolute shit. But I won’t get into that now.

I have to give it to them here...they totally knocked it out of the park with this one. I am HIGHLY impressed with the sculpt and overall look. The photos they released several months ago teasing this figure looked just ok. And the hands looked too smooth and “girly”. But it actually looks better in person, which is seldom the case.

For a price tag of $130, I’d say it’s worth every penny (if you’re a Myers freak like me)

I preordered the Sideshow Myers statue a few months ago, that cost $600. It is twice the size of this guy, has real hair and comes with a light up jack o lantern...this is gonna be hard to beat, though. I’m just hoping for $600, it does. Haha.

My only issue with it is the knife is super cheapo. It broke while I was inserting it into his hand (he comes with two hands, one opened, one in a fist to hold the knife). I had to super glue it twice. But other than that, I love this thing.
My pre-ordered Ariel and Ursula Gothel Doll Set. The slipcover has been removed to reveal the dolls in their display case.
My pre-ordered full set of the 2015 Disney Fairytale Designer Collection Heroes and Villains dolls arrived after a delay on November 6, 2015. I had ordered them at the D23 Expo on August 14, 2015. They are all edition number of 65 of 6000. They came in perfect condition, and I think most if not all the dolls are better than the ones I bought separately (which I have deboxed or will debox). By the way, I got 5 gift bags in this shipment, and got another 5 in a separate shipment. So like most people who pre-ordered the full collection, I am getting twice as many bags as I should have.
Here are my first photos of the set, taken with flash. They were taken in front of my KidKraft Snowflake Mansion. I will later take photos of my deboxed Designer dolls next to these dolls, which I will leave boxed. But before I do that I will have to debox the Rapunzel and Mother Gothel set and the Snow Queen Elsa and Hans set.

I read images at f/2 are soft. IMHO, I think the f/2 images are quite sharp and the bokeh is superb. For the first few days of shooting, I only shot with the f/2 setting. Even under the bright sunlight, I turn the "ND filter" to ON and was able to shoot at f/2 without having to put a real filter on. I do plan to get a hood and a few filters, though. Accessories for the X100 are just too hard to get a hold of these days and I am not willing to pay way above the retail for them.
The ergonomics are good, but could be better. It's a tad slippery to hold and there is barely a grip—thought the grip is better than the Leica X1 but not as grippy as the Ricoh GXR or GRDIII. I am using a wrist strap with it. The camera feels very solid, more so than the X1 but feels less solid than Leica M6. I would be afraid to drop it while I wouldn't worry so much dropping an M6.
The OVF is great to have but needs some improvements particularly in its ability to focus correctly at f/2 and f/2.8. I would recommend using the EVF shooting at such large apertures. It was a hit or miss affair getting the right focus when using OVF with f/2 and f/2.8. Focus speed is fast enough though as expected, not as fast as a DSLR; if I remember correctly, I think the SONY NEX 5 was a little quicker at focusing—but I could be wrong as I no longer have the NEX 5 to compare it to.
Battery life is great, I have shot around 300 pics and it still shows full battery.
I LOVE the panoramic mode; the ability to change the direction of panning gives me the option to get more vertical estate.
I am very happy with the image quality; there is absolutely nothing to complain about (so far).
In the next few weeks, I will most likely post a few more pics and jot down my thoughts a long with the photos. But, to sum it up, the X100 has been a pleasure to use.

I fell in love with this cutie as soon as her pic showed up online. I preordered immediately from Amazon. She arrived on Sunday.
I preordered these guys back in September, and they arrived in the mail today. I gotta say...the detail here is really well done. Now I just gotta come up with a spot to display them. One issue I have is that there’s no good way to make them hold their trick or treat bags. I may have to hot glue them on.
I can't believe I lucked out with a numbered Jett Dawson! Mine is #499/1000. I preordered two from Amazon US on release day, and because presales were restricted to the US, I had to resort to using a freight forwarder to ship her to me.
Her box came a little beat up, and most of those gold corner pieces came loose so I had to glue them back on. Because she's numbered, I do want to keep her on display in her box, so it's a little frustrating she came this way. Sadly it's one of the perks of ordering from the US. I'm just grateful nothing is broken, cracked or damp. The deboxed Jett showing here is the other unnumbered one I got.
I also shipped a bunch of other dolls along with Jett, including the De'Vious twins, Barbie Extra deluxe dolls, made to move barbies, Barbie BMR1959 and the 2021 Lunar New Year Barbie. The entire package weighed a whopping 9kg!
Now onto the Jett doll herself. She's gorgeous. I love how edgy and bold she is with her monochromatic black and white graphic sketch style. I appreciate her extra articulation in the chest and ankles, and her buttery smooth and soft rainbow pastel hair is to die for. She also sports a different skin tone from the other girls? She seems to have more pink undertones than the fairest dolls like Ruby and Poppy, and it's so radiant and beautiful. They've also really toned down on the face shimmer and she her face is mostly matte, which is a treat for photos.
So I'm fully aware of all the controversy surrounding this "collector's edition" doll. And on one hand, I do agree that she's somewhat overpriced compared to other Rainbow High dolls such as Avery Styles. However, you're really getting bang for your buck if you compare her with let's say, a limited edition Disney doll. And it's mostly in her second outfit.
It's a runway style burgundy red mermaid dress, fully lined and embroidered. It definitely plays a big part in driving her cost up. And that's unfortunate. Because while I do appreciate the craftsmanship and time that went into this fashion piece, I can't say I'm a fan. I wish they'd put their time and budget on something more cohesive and less restrictive for Jett. I just don't see myself putting this impractical and extravagant dress on any of the current Rainbow High dolls. It will likely just act as a background decor or prop, which is a real pity. There are already several YT videos showing how problematic the dress is to get on and pose in.
Before I sign off, I do have to note that I'm so glad MGA finally released an east asian doll (even though her surname doesn't sound asian at all?) because we asians get so little representation in most doll lines. I hope to see more asian dolls enter the Rainbowverse.
So all in all, while I do adore this doll and she's definitely amongst my top favourites, she is not without issues. I have already ordered two more of her from Amazon (I'm trying to get one with deep red ombre lips like my numbered one which I will not be deboxing). As of now, my absolute favourite Rainbow High doll is Laurel De'vious. She's absolutely breathtaking, and I am so in love with her fiery colours and new face mould. More on that soon!!

First Impressions: It doesn't have /all/ the software to make me happy (..but I can install them), but Xandros have done a reasonable job at putting the Linux desktop UI software together. Of course, I'm much preferring the full KDE desktop rather than the 'Easy Mode'.
My pre-ordered Snow Queen Elsa and Hans Doll Set. The slipcover has been removed to reveal the dolls in their display case.
My pre-ordered full set of the 2015 Disney Fairytale Designer Collection Heroes and Villains dolls arrived after a delay on November 6, 2015. I had ordered them at the D23 Expo on August 14, 2015. They are all edition number of 65 of 6000. They came in perfect condition, and I think most if not all the dolls are better than the ones I bought separately (which I have deboxed or will debox). By the way, I got 5 gift bags in this shipment, and got another 5 in a separate shipment. So like most people who pre-ordered the full collection, I am getting twice as many bags as I should have.
Here are my first photos of the set, taken with flash. They were taken in front of my KidKraft Snowflake Mansion. I will later take photos of my deboxed Designer dolls next to these dolls, which I will leave boxed. But before I do that I will have to debox the Rapunzel and Mother Gothel set and the Snow Queen Elsa and Hans set.

I was on my iPhone, and realized news of Steve Jobs passing was spreading over Facebook like wildfire. I couldn't believe it. I used my iPhone to text some people I knew, inquiring about the tragic news. I then proceeded to go to my MacBook Pro to read online further into things ... as initially I thought everything was a hoax. I took a picture of Steve Jobs on my MacBooks screen, and now here I am. I glanced over at the spare MacBook laptop I have on my desk. And my iTouch, and 1st generation iPod. Now I am typing on my Macbook, with my iPhone next to me while I listen to iTunes. And tomorrow I will be preordering five iPhone4S'; and so now even my brother and sister will have an iPhone to match their MacBooks.
Yeah, I can say you've had an influence on my life, Mr. Jobs.

When I got back home from that long camping trip, I found that Hogtrainz had shipped the four Atlas well cars from their second run that I had preordered. Here are the two 40 foot well cars that I ordered.
I just picked up my preordered copy of the Sleeping Beauty 'Wandering Dreams' framed cel, with postcard and pin, from Disneyana on Main Street. I had ordered it on January 1, 2016, and got it on January 31, 2016, which is sooner than the estimated 6-8 weeks. It is by Disneyland Ink & Paint. The cel is LE 1000 (not individually numbered), and the pin is LE 600. The cel features a midrange image of Briar Rose and Prince Phillip holding hands, with Sleeping Beauty Castle in the background. The pin has a different pose of Phillip and Briar Rose in reversed positions, with a heart symbol between them, and the castle in the background. So it would be appropriate as a Valentine's Day pin. The frame has an antiqued silver finish, with 'D', heart and crown symbols in a repeating pattern.
As with a lot of pieces, it looks even better in person. The cel has a 3D-effect being floated over the background. Aurora as Briar Rose has such a loving expression. The painting of the cel is flawless. The ornate silver frame is well matched with the blue matting, and is appropriate for commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the Disneyland Resort.

Surprisingly, Australia got some of the Harry Potter dolls! I’m kinda annoyed Ginny and Minerva weren’t here but I’m mainly here for the trio cuz HOLY SHIT the Harry Potter dolls were GRAIL dolls of mine as a child who binged on the series. Sadly the first run of the dolls in 2001-2003 never made it to my area as a kid and I was so embittered and sad.
Ofc these aren’t the same amount of detail, but highly articulated figures with decent likenesses???? I was so incredibly happy.
I’m a bit annoyed I preordered the dolls on Walmart but the refund process is taking up to a month to get while I grabbed these at Big W but whatever, I finally got the dolls 9 year old me had always wanted, especially Ron! Ahhh.
I finished this dress yesterday and I'm actually going to do my first preorder ever, yay! I want to finish this set as soon as I can, so that I can send them out before December. Details about it can be found on the listing.
I'll only be making three sets, apart from this test set (which I'll be keeping since I messed up the stitch for the socks. The preordered sets will have nice stitches if my sewing machine will co-operate ;P )

I was SO excited when this arrived in the mail yesterday. I had preordered it on amazon back in april or may and as soon as it was available this month it was shipped to me!
I've already done A LOT of stuff in the book and it has been so fun! The directions say not to share any findings until told to do so and I haven't been told yet, but I've been taking pics and documenting everything.

To the surprise of probably nobody that knows my habits, I preordered what is probably the last Scarlett Johansson Black Widow Figuarts release - of course, I'm speaking of the one for her movie, which we would have seen by now under normal circumstances.
Interestingly enough though, despite being seen in at least two costumes, there was only one Widow figure solicited, and the entire movie only generated two figures - Widow and Taskmaster, which I didn't bother to get.
A bit about the box art first.. bottom right hand corner of the front shows Natasha with her hair down, but wearing the black costume. So for those keeping score, that's now potentially four different hair styles I've seen within the scope of one movie, which will make things interesting if Hot Toys decides to actually make anything for this movie.
If you bought the Endgame release of Natasha, you're basically already familiar with the payload - there's the figure in her all new suit and one of several hair new hair styles, no additional faces this time, two baton handles for her backpack, two batons, one sickle, two empty holsters, two pistols, two filled holsters, Widow's Bite effects mounted on two fists, and pretty much the same extra hands (except her left hand no longer has the Quantum Watch).
If the face looks familiar, it's because she's had that face since Infinity War, and somehow I think maybe Tamashii Nations intended it to be a two faced package, but the same MSRP as before, might have nixed that idea.
If you look at the profile view of her head, you'll see the surgical scars there.
Otherwise, you'll notice that the batons and the handles have paint on them this time, which was not present on the Endgame version (not in the movie anyway) but was lacking from the Infinity War version, and naturally the paint is on the sickles.
A bit more before we move on from comparisons to the previous versions.
You'll notice that this version of Nat is shorter than previously. After a bit of staring.. and more staring, I FINALLY arrived at the conclusion she's not shorter, she's just not wearing platform boots anymore.
Finally, I don't know what happened, but the Endgame version ended up looking much more jaundiced compared to both her predecessor and her successor. Thank goodness they fixed that because it certainly wasn't a one time thing, seeing how my backup Endgame Nat has the same complexion.
The new Widow suit appears to be a very stylized version of her comic suit, including finally gold accents, and she gains some neat elbow pads. It'll be interesting to see if they explain how her movie suits evolve into the IW ensemble that displeased many a viewer, as it appears to borrow many elements from her Endgame outfit, despite taking place between Civil War and Infinity War.
I don't know what to make of her hair. I mean, it's hair.. it's red.. so I guess that's a good start. Her massive ponytail is well detailed and painted for something of this scale. It just feels to me that they might have made her head too square at the forehead and the overall shape of her hair, making her head seem a tad undersized. The ponytail is relatively pliable, so you don't have to worry about it snapping off easily.
Articulation is effectively identical to what Endgame got you - toes, ankles, double jointed knees, hips on ball joints with a floating crotch section for improved range of motion, waist, mid torso, shoulders with some collapse and bicep swivel, single jointed elbows with forearm pivot, wrists, neck, and head. Her upper torso (bust to neck) has more restrictions on range of motion compared to Endgame as she no longer has that gap at the bottom of the piece and her abs.
The good news is that she looks slightly better from the side with fuller bust.
Paint work is once again an area with no real concerns (especially since I'm going forward in time for a review for once). The base black that Nat has all over the body is smooth, and there are no concerns I have to raise with regards to the gold, silver, and red accents on her body, though some of the silver paint on her weapons have seen better days (arguably the fault of the less than stellar finish).
Hands are consistent, which is to say they've been.. alright. You can tell they're fingers and that's about it - the Figma guys definitely have a better product from this perspective.
Hair and face I touched up on earlier. Solid stuff, especially with a decent Scar Jo sculpt and that digital painting stuff that has been working well for the past three iterations (AoU, IW, Endgame) and the new healthy complexion.
Finally there's build quality.. which strangely enough feels a slight step back. There's the anal retentive stuff (to my fingers, the box feels flimsier), and then there's the fact this is first Marvel Figuarts I've picked up that actually had a joint pop apart (fortunately it was something you could snap back together) and the left arm actually popped out of the socket (again, easily reassembled)
There are no other issues with QC (the rough finish on the baton handles were probably always there, just no paint to highlight them). The plastic itself definitely feels softer than Endgame (bringing it back more in line with Infinity War) and this is probably due to the lack of extensive fine textures, which were prevalent on the Endgame suit.
Well that about wraps it up for this Widow. It's still pretty good, despite trading aesthetics for articulation, having only one face, and some minor quality quips. She won't be the one travelling with me (my Endgame Nat is already play worn, so not point damaging another figure) but she'll be at home in the horde, keeping order when I'm not around.
